I just went out and bought and 04 ram dually with a 6 speed about a week and a half ago. I do not think I will ever want another truck lol. It's got crazy good power, and sounds amazing. I hauled 7000 pounds of rock with it to a jobsite earlier this week and I hardly noticed it behind me except for braking. I won't lie your videos are a big part of why I bought the truck. Thanks for the influence!

Yeah the 2nd gens have more of a bark. I have 2 one is a 94 12v auto single longbox with a 5" straight pipe. Heavy pump modifications/injectors and hx40 and that thing is loud. Bit smokey when under heavy throttle until the turbo spools. And also have a 02 24v 6 speed HO club cab shortbox with 4" straight pipe. That is quieter then the 12v but more usable for towing with the manual. 3rd gens just have a different tone

I got an 03 6 speed and 50’s with a smarty and straight pipe, had it for 20 years. It sounds like a Log truck and everytime I drive it, it puts a smile on my face. People on the street break their neck looking at where or what the sound it, love that truck

Although this videos is a older I figured I'd ask anyway I noticed when you accelerate unless I'm mistaken you have an intermittent chirp sound. After putting a stack on my truck I now have a chirp as well and I was wondering if you would know what it is?

that is turbo compressor surge. Will normally get more prominent with throttle , so more boost will create a louder surge when throttle is released. Often you will here this on racecars when no blow of valve is used. Videos like this need absolutely no music at all. Hopefully I can start uploading my own videos in the next year or so to add to the community. I'm going to be fixing up my Dodge 12 Valve, and my Brother in Law might go in on a Peterbilt 379 with me too, so I'll have 2 reasons to post. The Dodge needs a new Transmission and Transfer case before I can use it for towing though...it really doesn't like the missing 5th gear and the hole in the side of the TC from the front drive axle coming loose a couple years ago. 😬

the sound of a 12 valve is much more desirable, 24 valve have a lot less psssssss sound in their powerplant. Detroit 60's their14 liter makes that nice sound and, them N14 CELEC PLUS too, that nice PSSSSSSS sound when you downshift haha, our 1989 12 valve is around 500,000 miles sounds like a smaller N14's haha. great job on your truck man.
