Hi Emmy! I really appreciate your videos so much. As a guy in his early 20s who has moved away from all my family, I was really really sad not being able to make any of my mom’s favorite dishes with her skill and love. Thank you so much for helping me connect with my mom more through our shared love of food. Itadakimasu!

I used to work with disabled adults who lived independently. One guy loved breakfast sandwiches, but was advised not to use stove top. I would scramble 6 eggs, while he toasted English muffins, then we would add a slice of cheese and deli ham, and put eggs in between. Then wrap up in plastic wrap and he would microwave for 1min in the morning! He loved them and they looked good to me.

And in England you use back bacon in an English breakfast, but it looks nothing like that. It's a very different shape.
@Erydanus18 сағат бұрын
I had this exact model but tossed it when decluttering to my regret. The one note I have for you is that the owner's manual specifically said use hard cheeses like cheddar. The reason for that is that American cheese will liquefy when put in as much heat as this little machine makes, and it gets messy. If you want to use American, just add it separately at the end, and let the heat of the sandwich melt the cheese. Also try adding some chives!
@YouDummy18 сағат бұрын
I use a cookie cutter and trim off the sides of the American cheese. Fits perfectly and it doesn't drip out.

My definitions of ‘bacon’, from a Canadian. Bacon- just like that in the US. From the belly of the pig, is smoked. Usually sold raw Ham- cured leg of pork, not usually smoked. Usually sold cooked Back bacon - cured and smoked loin of pork. It is usually sold cooked Peameal bacon- pork loin, cured, but not smoked, rolled in peameal, sold raw I believe ‘Canadian bacon’ in the US is what we call back bacon. There also seem to be cheaper versions which are really just ham in a circle, convenient for breakfast sandwiches.

I’ve used mine for years. Love the ready cook bacon in mine and often use jumbo eggs. I also have used an extra yolk. Cooks much better at a home environment where not distracted by filming and narrating. If you assemble when unit is heated and not stop in between, cooking is perfection. Doing closer to 4 minutes makes a better egg for me. I prefer a bit runny. Even with a full kitchen, this little gadget makes a tasty and fast sandwich. Still going strong after so many years and use.

This is probably the only non-stick item I still own. I've had it for years, and never used scratchy stuff on it, so it's still pristine. It's just so easy to throw the stuff in, then continue getting read for the morning. I never had issues with larger eggs, but I think the english muffins we get around here are on the smaller side, so that may compensate. And yes, always cheese after. There's plenty of heat in the sandwich to melt it more than enough.

I use one all the time, but just to cook the egg and assembly. I toast the english muffin (Bays) in a pan and the sausage as well. Then when the egg is done, that's when the muffin, sausage and cheese goes in. I know what's the point? It does a great job with the egg. It is the second pan I would have used anyway. The nonstick surface does last and looks new even after routine use for years. (I used to use ham or Canadian bacon but prefer sausage so I only use that.)

I got one from my employer for “10 years” of service. 🤣 It’s on its 13th year and still going strong For the cheese, I just bend it over and tuck it under the meat, so it doesn’t hang over the edges (Not sure if Canadian Kraft slices are smaller) Precooked sausage rounds works great. I just slightly reheat 15 seconds to get the fridge chill off of it first Large eggs works fine (at least Canadian large size). Your cooker is preheated, so it cooks the egg edges to prevent leaks.

In my experience here in the New England region of the US, "Canadian bacon" is a pork product that is cured like bacon, sliced thinner than ham slices, usually in rounds. It is less fatty than strip bacon, and can tend towards the "chewy" side of things. Yummy!

My fav breakfast sandwiches... 1 Scrambled eggs and cheese on wheat toast. And second frozen pancakes and burger sized sausage patties. P-S-P-S-P like a breakfast Big Mac. Yummy! With these small appliances you kinda have to weigh in the versatility. You can get a single burner hotplate and skillet and cook anything. You could also get an electric kettle (hotpot) for tea, coffee, packaged sides, hot dogs, ramen, boiling eggs...they are the same size as that breakfast sandwich maker which looks like a one trick pony. To be fair you can switch up your ingredients but it's still a breakfast sandwich. I have also seen a lot done with a waffle maker. And there are also toasters, maybe even the gf grill. Also you want to pay attention to how easy your gadget is to clean (and how clean they get for the effort) esp if you are in small space or if you pack the item in your luggage or smoosh it in a box with other stuff.

Speaking of breakfast, Im wondering if Emmy has ever cooked salt pork. Some stores have it in a chunk ( which never made sense because we always had to ask the butcher to slice it into a thickness of a thick cut bacon) anyhow the texture is so different from bacon because of the way the fat renders. Emmy might find it interesting that a close to inedible rind is left over after eating away the crackling like meat.

I have that same model sandwich maker at home... And to be honest, it's a waste of money for me even tho I got it free as a gift... You're not saving anytime making sandwiches with this device... But you could use it for travels in an RV or travel use period... So it is useful for that purpose... But now it's collecting dust in my home...

I have one at work where we have no kitchen. Tell me again how it’s only good for travels in an RV period, should I throw mine away?

@@13Voodoobilly69Yeah... If you have no kitchen, it's good for that... I didn't think about that honestly... And to answer your question, hell no don't throw it away lol...

Could you try the Dubai chocolate? every review I see never describes on how it tastes. It would definitely be really cool if you did like a recipe. Love you a lot emmy ❤
