I can imagine black texture paste stencilled over a dark coloured cardstock for a Victorian wallpaper look.

I can’t wait to try adding ink to craft foam to make an ombré ink pad. That technique looks amazing! Thank you for all of these great ideas.

Oh what FUN!! I love the ombré butterfly and the gel plated techniques best, but all are terrific. Never thought to use fun foam as my base. TY!! 🧑🏼🎨😀

Try distress oxide rinkers onto the shiny side of photo paper. I put drops onto acetate, spritz with water and press the photo paper down. You can lift the color a few times and/or add a different colour. Allow to air dry and then, using a baby wipe rub off the oxidization. Fantastic finish. You end up with the base colour used to make the shade Tim Holtz wanted.

Agreed! That's a super fun technique. It's so cool to watch the vibrant colours appear as you wipe it off!

I was experimenting with re inkers just last night. 😊 wish I'd thought of your foam tip. 😊

Inking foam specifically for a stamp makes sense if you're mass producing that image, but it would be a waste of reinker for one-offs (particularly compared with how little ink you used to re-ink the pad). For a single image, using a blending brush to apply the ink to the stamp would be more economical. I imagine if you store the inked foam in an air-tight container it might be useful for a few weeks (you were vague on how long that would be useful).
