As a kid, my Mom made biscuit donuts. I'm talking late 60's early 70's. She would put cinnamon and sugar in a paper bag and our job was to put the donuts in and shake to coat them. She did another bag with powder sugar. This was our treat after coming in from playing in the snow along with a cup of hot chocolate. Fond, happy memories.

We used to take small strips of biscuit dough and wrap it around “Lil’ Smokies”. Similar to bite sized pigs in a blanket. And since it’s sausage it can be served with syrup for breakfast or some mustard for dinner. I’ve had it both ways and it’s always good!

I made the cherry danish tonight, I made 1/2 of the recipe ( used 4 for dinner biscuits, then made 8 danish out of the remaining dough) They were REALLY GOOD. The savory biscuit, the sweet cream cheese and the tart cherries, made for a great combo. Even my son, who is not a fan of canned fruit, ate 2 of them! This recipe is a keeper.

My Wife made those Donuts (Maple Bars) for me and my boys when we went camping over an open fire. Ohh, you haven't roughed it until you've ate donuts while camping. She had also brought a Pastry Syringe and also filled the same Donuts with Strawberry Preserves and a couple different puddings. That made them Pop!
