I have had Silhouette Studio for many years, use it often for tracing (I think it is the best out there) and my text designs, and you have shown me things I would have never figured out on my own. You are probably the best instructor on this software I have ever come across and I can name a few that are not as informative as you. I learned more in 10 minutes with you than I did one week with them! I am also so pleased with your teaching style, clear and to the point!

To switch back to selector tool after creating a shape, go to Preferences, Tools, and set “After Creating a shape”, to “Choose Select” . Default value is “Continue drawing Shapes”

The shortcut keys are super helpful, but the ones that are just a letter cause chaos! Crosshairs and Center of Rotation are always getting turned on accidentally!

Hi Brenda thank you so much! I have been binge watching your videos they are so helpful! I'm trying to figure out how to fill a shape and cut off the excess. For example I placed a heart shape then filled it with x and o 's for a valentine design. How do I merge it to fill perfectly? Thank you!

If I'm understanding correctly, you want to place all of the pieces, then select all. Open the Modify Panel and subtract all. You want to Mahe a copy of your work before using the Modify Panel, though. Just to lower your stress levels if something doesn't work right. 🙃

I haven't found many videos on the send to queue function. Do you have any videos about it? I recently discovered I can use it to send multiple designs to the queue so I can safely remove a design from the virtual mat and then print the next one while the previous one is cutting.

Good morning. I’m in the process of watching your video. I just had a present for my children for Mother’s Day and they got me the silhouette five with the electrostatic mat so I am fairly new to silhouette studio. I own about four cricket machines. My windows computer broke and my brother is lending me his MacBook. I was just wondering if Mac and the silhouette studios are friendly with each other or is it more friendly with windows. Silhouette Studio does run on Mac, but it is usually a much better experience with Windows. It seems like if there is going to be a bug, it is on a Mac.

Hi I have the business edition of silhouette studio I am trying to make a tapered Tumblr I have my own picture that I bring into it but things are not working out right not sure exactly what I'm doing right when I'm doing wrong but when I thought it was rape I printed out and it was no bigger than maybe 1/2 inch tall and it's wide so I need some help i'm desperate here thank you

You'll probably need a larger image to start with. When you start small and enlarge it, the picture will become pixelated or blurry. You also want a resolution of 300 dpi or higher.

How in the world do you move a post it note around once you’ve placed it? I have tried clicking on it several different ways, (edge, middle, dbl clicking). Nothing works. Please help… Also, how do you change the pointer and hand tool to pink or another color? One more question, how do you set a default font when adding text? I accidentally have it on a cursive font, and just want block lettering when I start adding text. Thank you for sharing the other information, so helpful.

To move the sticky notes, you'll need to click off of it first so that the cursor is gone. Then just click and drag. To change the font, you can go to preferences (the little gear on the bottom right), and you'll find the setting in defaults. Or - just select a font before you bring up your cursor. And I changed my cursor color in the settings of my computer.

@@silhouettesuccess I tried moving the sticky note, and it is stuck, I cant get it to move for anything. I have the cameo 3. It's so frustrating that the notes are stuck where I first put them.
