Coronavirus boredom update!
Hi guys, just quick update without the fancy editing. Model in primer, so it's starting to look like the finished article. Waiting on another detail greeblie order then it's on to the final paint colour. Lighting will follow. Sorry about the wait, but good things take time.😀

Fantastic work! The Galactica was always my favorite. Many years ago, I got to see the actual model used on the television show in a museum show of special effects props. Apparently, the original model was going to be scrapped after the show was cancelled, but someone salvaged it stored it in his garage. Also, only one side of the model was completely detailed, they just flipped the film when they needed to show the other side. As the model was in bad shape after being in storage, they did a complete restoration of the Galactica for the museum show, detailing both sides.

Thanks! You're partially correct. If you saw Galactica at the Sci Fi museum a few years ago, that was a replica. The original was on display at Universal studios in the early 90s after being rescued and quickly patched up from storage. It has been in private collector hands ever since. It was fully detailed everywhere originally.

@@LastBattlestar I saw the Galactica model back in 1986 at the Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. The show was of movie and television props, matte paintings and costumes dating from the silent movie era to the present. Among the science fiction items were the original starship Enterprise model used in the television show and the Mothership from Close Encounters of the Third Kind as well as the Galactica. I believe the Enterprise is part of their permanent collection, but everything else was on loan from studios and private collectors. At the time of the museum show, the Galactica had been fully restored.

Thanks for the info and time frame. I believe FX guy Greg Jein did that exhibition and it would indeed have been the original Galactica. Some black and white photos of Galactica exist from that show. Then she must have gone back into storage at Universal until dug out and pieced back together by Mark Bradley for the window display there in the early 90s. Then into private hands ever since. It and other BG miniatures were recently sold, rumour has it that they are now in Japan.
