I always like the stowable main turret on this APC. Made so much sense given how it was transported.

Yes I must agree Mike after seeing Ian's APC I must say you guys are 2 of the best and lets not forget Chris Chulamanis who built a 1:6 scale version. I was sad to hear he passed away in 2008 at only 58, so next to you guys I'm a Hubcap trying to be a big wheel. I have learned much by studying you guys works I love this vid.

Fantastic build, i am in awe at your skills involved to do this, and the Galactica looks fantastic. I would love to build a scale model of the M577 too, ive watched a lot of styrene builds but ive never done my own so ive been procrastinating for a while. I'm still not sure what size though. Im guessing about 400mm - 500mm in length. The scale does depend on wheels that are available though so the length may change and of course the overall scale. I also want to fit a motor and axles with 4 wheel steering, I am currently looking at 3d printing differentials and gearboxes to be able to do this, ive found the files to print them. The rc part sholdnt be as daunting as the building part as I have many years of rc building experience and currently i'm building rock crawlers which use all the 4ws and the like. Im hoping it will help me along the way haha. Thanyou again for the video and the awesome build.

Thanks so much for the kind words! The APC was fun. I'd like some accurate tyres for it very much, it was hand built at the time so I had to do the best I could. Let me know if you're ever printing accurate tyres!

This video got me thinking about my old Halcyon 1/35 APC model kit. I bought it in the '90s and gave it an extremely rudimentary paint job. Then the wheels fell off and it gathered dust in the garage for twenty years. Yesterday I pulled it out of the box, and it still has all it's bits, so it's time to rebuild and repaint it! My modeling skills are nowhere near yours, but I think I can make a decent fist of it.

This APC build is awesome. I kinda wanna do my own build. I would really like to know where you buy your styrene sheet from. I've tried sourcing it and every where I find a stockist its obscenely priced. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. KUTGW.

Thanks, it was a fun build! I'm in Australia and source my HIPS styrene sheets from a couple of local plastics suppliers, not hobby stores. They supply plastic of all types and this stuff was relatively cheap for big sheets, about 20 bucks IIRC. Hope that helps!

@@DarthInsidiom I use Menzel Plastic Traders and Acrylix Plastics here. I think Menzels are nation wide, might be in Vic? It's been several years since I bought any but it's the HIPS stuff you need. I used 1, 1.5 and 2mm thicknesses, white. menzelplastics.com.au/YPS_products7df0.html
