Hey everyone. These pattern videos do really well for my channel. What is it that you like so much about them? (reply here)

The first is actually just a tresillo rythm. The video explaining it best and deepest to my knowledge is "5 Rhythms That Changed My Life (Important Patterns for Ableton, FL Studio - Splice)". It really blew my mind. I just heard it everywhere after that :D Its really interesting, that Alex knows the pattern but not the name. To be honest Im not sure if thats a good or bad thing :D What do you think?

This is such an eye opening. It made me realize how important it is in the Production Process that will define the vibe of a song. How much the combination of choosing sound and rhythm can affects the song. Thank you Alex.
@PaslaveOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Most of the time i would only sketch the song into the daw but never really perfect the midis play around with rhythm,positions, did change velocity and swing though. Guess Mixing can only refine the good choices made during production.

Ok, this was mindblowing for me. The explanations of what a 1/8th and others mean really help demystifies and decompose what the heck is going behind all of this. Is there a retro synth style type of patterns deconstruction somewhere by any chance? This has become the favorite music style for working, exercising, parties, etc for me.

How do you make those different tonalities? like at 3:02 at the start it sound slike a nomal bass but at the end it sounds different from that pattern.
@DJMRAsingh3 жыл бұрын
Just some more tips for the beginner producers to help remember these:- 1) A dotted eighth note is the sum of lengths of three 16th notes. You can also add grooves to the dotted eights rhythms to get more organic and shuffled vibes. 2) 4:22 This type of bass pattern is also called rolling bass.
@SeanLazer3 жыл бұрын
Tagging on to this: fifths and octaves almost always work if you want to add some melodic movement to the bass line. For anyone that doesn't know, the fifth is 7 steps up or 5 steps down from the root, and the octave is 12 in either direction.

@@daledo4032 anytime!! I'm currently workshopping a lot of new stuff, I never established a presence but I'm working on that now. I don't really resonate with much of my old work (perfectionism and overthinking kind of hindered my workflow, resulting in a harddrive full of "unfinished" work). anything I really have is mostly unreleased. but now I'm getting into logic, starting from scratch, and actually incorporating my guitar skill into my music and song writing. my genres of interest range between alt/indie rock/pop, future bass, midwestern, bedroom-style production, and some Spanish classical and even metal influence. i also love noodling around with lofi. I'd love to connect somehow, I have an unreleased 3-track hip hop project I made with a friend i resonate with that I'd love to share. or even just to talk about production! do you have a preference on where we could connect? email? social platform?
