The technique you demonstrate at 9:13 is what I absolutely hate to hear. Maybe people's hearing is used to that now as it sounds _similar_ to the gain pumping effect of excessive dynamic compression. To my ears, the sound played at 9:25 sound far more natural and pleasing. I fear three decades of overuse of dynamic compression by most of the record producers has resulted in a generation of producers that actually think the gain modulation this involves sounds good 🙄
