at 1700, I’ve found it never works. They always advance the pawn, and you’re stuck with there cramping you the whole game.
@softan
@softan Жыл бұрын
@@crucifiedthief Yep same, every time I try they push the pawn to d5 instead of taking and I get no space and it's tricky to develop the pieces. Usually ends up being difficult tocapture the pawn in the centre because they inevitebly reinforce it with a pawn on e4.

I like the video. I don’t focus on traps but instead try to play solid chess. The traps are entertaining but you need your opponent to make the right moves, and this is risky bc if they play something else then you can end up with an inferior position and lose the freaking game.
@jfryer485
@jfryer485 2 жыл бұрын
I think the videos show how to attack while fulfilling normal development and so the lines are super solid. Most are gambits where you sacrifice a pawn to get quick development and a winning attack. So for me they are not only super solid but open up ideas you never use normally. If you have a piece attacked for example you look to remove it from danger. In these games, often you ignore the threat by a more powerful riposte that wins the exchange a few moves later. Personally where I was struggling to win at 1200, I find i am annihilating players at 1400 now. Igor is for me the go to person to i prove my chess. I see lots of copy cat by others or maybe even Igor picks up from these too. Chess is about sharing ideas But unusual defences take your opponent out of their comfort zone. So if you stick with your old methods then your level tops off but by using the ideas here I know you can possibly aim for a level at least 500 higher than before. Also the techniques are generally applicable of development, getting open lines and the deadly double attacks which at times leave no defence. I tried the idea of moving the knight to attack the opponents knight in the Fried Liver and got an easy win without the nightmare of getting my king shoved around in the usual storm that follows. You could see the pause of not pushing the pawn forward and following on with this deadly attack.
