Whether you want to improve your credit score 100 points in a single week. Use credit to buy over a million dollars of real estate even if you are broke, or just get hundreds of dollars in cash back every month, you are going to need credit cards and I was able to get my hands on the 5 best credit cards of 2022.
Starting with the first credit card, the most hated credit card on this list.
The Apple Card
You are going to need a credit score in the mid 600s to get this card but plenty of people with good credit scores have gotten denied for this card so it’s definitely not the easiest one to get out of these 5 cards.
It has no annual fee and a great app interface that actually encourages you NOT to pay interest. Where all other credit cards have confusing statements and make their interest/fee structures confusing apple has done the opposite and created, in my opinion the best app interface for someone trying to figure out their first credit card.
But for those that want to save money and maximize value, the only place it really makes sense to use is at the apple store.
Which in comparison to this next card makes this card almost worthless.
This is one of the most simple, and best overall credit cards ever made. It has no annual fee, gives you 1.5% cash back on every purchase, 3% on restaurants and drugstores, and a $200 signup bonus.
Next is the luxury credit card of this top 5 and it definitely is priced like one. It has a $550 annual fee, but, most people won’t end up paying this.
Since Chase offers a $300 travel credit that can be used on almost anything travel related, from plane seat upgrades, to parking passes and everything in between. This immediately drops the effective annual fee to $250.
This card also has $280 worth of credit between Peleton, doordash and global entry. For myself the annual fee is almost completely offset by these credit every year.
If at any point you stop traveling you can also downgrade this card to a no annual fee chase card.
On top of that this card comes with a free membership to priority pass. So if you are traveling you can get some free food and drinks, fast wifi and a nice place to relax at the airport.
But the reason this card has always been considered one of the best credit cards out there is because it makes all of your other chase points more valuable.
So it effectively makes the last card not just a 1.5% cash back card but rather 2.25% cash back, putting it just a notch above almost every other credit card out there promising cash back on everything.
The next card gives you a $200 sign up bonus, free money for getting the card and using it on $500 worth of purchases in the first 3 months.
And the last card on this list is only available for customers who have an eligible Amazon Prime Membership, and the card itself has absolutely NO ANNUAL FEE, so it’s totally free to get and keep.
With this card, you’re going to be getting 5% cash back on ALL Amazon and Whole Foods purchases, you’ll get 2% back at restaurants, gas stations, and drugstores…and then 1% cash back on everything else.

Very interesting! I love my Apple Card because most places I go accept Apple Pay, and as a student, basically all other student cards don't have 2% back on all purchases. I have the Chase Freedom Student but I don't find much use for it so I'll probs product change it to another Chase card. I also have the Discover Cash Back and BofA Travel cards which I like a lot, and I recently got the Amex Green to replace my Blue by Amex. Do you have any other card suggestions?

I would try to move to one system, chase, Amex or Citi. Having all your rewards in different places makes it hard to use them

I'm in the market for a good travel card (I have no loyalty to any specific airline as I am usually looking for the best price) Is the Chase Sapphire Preferred best for someone like me? Credit score is low/mid 700s but wouldn't be applying until I need to book a euro trip in the spring.

Yes, absolutely! If you wanted to spend a bit more $$ the amex platinum could probably offer a better sign up bonus after moving the MR to a travel partner like Detla though.
