There are a lot of good useful feats for a Moon Druid just really depends on the build your want to play. I like grabbing charger, sentinel, and either piercer or slasher. I'm thinking about trying out either Gift of the Gem or Metallic Dragon feats cause the Telekinetic Reprisal and Protective Wings ability sound fun. I can just imagine a moon druid wildshaped and forming wings made of pure moon light or the Telekinetic Reprisal being hidden behind a bellowing roar.

Has anyone noticed than in Rune Carver Apprentice, RAW is that you only need to TOUCH the enchanted rune to activate the spell attached to the item? So a small metal disc on a cord around your neck that could be worn by any shape suddenly gives wildshape an unactivated spell ready to be used.. And these can include bane, chromatic orb, cure wounds, guiding bolt, shield and armour of Agathys amongst others..

My DM ruled that on my Druid/Monk build allowed the toughness feat to effect my shapes. So when I decided to drop kick (Open Hand Monk) as a squirrel I could have more then 2 HP that tied with mobile & lucky feat (and evasion from Monk) became a scary little guy and terrifying with only core book.
@jonroda66272 жыл бұрын
I'd add observant and piercer as possible options. I'd rank them behind telepath, mobile and telekinesis though.
@x0Vinny0x Жыл бұрын
My top 3 choices of feats would be: 1) Sentinel - Control the battlefield and potentially get additional attacks when your allies are hit. 2) Mobile - Faster move speed, ignore difficult terrain on dash and enemies can't make attacks of opportunity against you if you make an attack against them. This is important to note because some beasts have multi-attack. If you have 1-3 guys surrounding you and you need to reposition, you can hit and run instead of just disengaging. 3) War Caster - Advantage on maintaining concentration, can cast with hands full and the ability to cast a single target spell INSTEAD of doing an attack of opportunity (Meaning this won't stack with Sentinel). The main point of taking this is for the concentration checks, but the cast on opportunity is a nice bonus in the off chance you're caught in humanoid form.

Hear me out (for any Druid) Metamagic Adept Imagine this, two Thornwhips. A cool DM may even let you spidy swing with them! Then do your Wildshaping lol

Not really a combination that is seen often, but if your Dm allows it, Multiclassing a Moon druid with a Armorer Artificer basically grants you another set of functional human hands (you don't have true hands during wildshape so the armor creates a new pair for you to use, as the armor remains and adapts to your shape to fully envelope your body). Aside giving you a better AC than most Beast forms have, and a free ranged weapon with the interceptor armor type, this allows you to be able to use feats combination like Pam or Shield master while still being in Beast form, with the only real disadvantage to appear like a metallic monstrosity resembling some kind of animal, with a extra pair of human hands and feets and probably causing both people and animals to flee from you, after seeing your form. Also, with hands you can now just write down whatever you want to tell to your companions on some paper, during non-combat rounds.

Moon or Sheppard druid with battlesmith or armour artificer, echo knight fighter, astral self monk, beastmaster ranger, or pact of the chain warlock can bring a whole bunch of extra attacks with it.
@lucamorello_guardiansoul2 жыл бұрын
@@jacobyspurnger8488 depends what role you need/want to play on the team (more damage isn't always the answer) , for me, increasing my ability to tank, while also filling the Moon druid gaps giving him options usable in wildshape, such a way to use his reaction with Pam (something that shouldn't be able to, but in this way he can), or maybe having access to the homunculus that can ride you and use his attacks in exchange for your bonus action, it's a priceless combination, even if only a bit MAD.
@jacobyspurnger84882 жыл бұрын
@@lucamorello_guardiansoul the monk does the same thing with it's extra arms and legs and is Wis/Dex just like the ranger. Echo doesn't have to be MAD to have a body that can hold weapons and armor to fight alongside your wildshape as well.
@lucamorello_guardiansoul2 жыл бұрын
@@jacobyspurnger8488 I still see you aren't getting the point. If you are talking about Astral monk, strict Dms will say that your additional arms can be used only to make unarmed attacks, and only to do that, they can't grab things or access Pam feat and his benefits because they can't wield weapons (and neither should a Wildshaped druid because he lacks human hands, unless he is using the Artificer Armour that properly states in his rules that it give you a pair of working hands, even if you don't have any). About the Echo warrior subclass, while his reach advance for attacks and ability to do short teleports is certainly nice, he doesn't states anywhere that can wield weapons or armor, the echo is considered a object not a creature (clarification from a tweet of Jeremy Crawford), and the fact he has a limited number for his feature of Unleash Incarnation with the Echo effective Hp of 1, is a big limitation in my eyes, especially if with a Artificer i can get a Homunculus that can do ranged attacks and that can be equipped with a more stronger alternative to attack, unlike normal familiars. When you read the rules, always starts by looking at them if they were ment to work like Raw, with them being able to do only what they say, because most of the time, Rai Rules change from DM to DM.

That sounds beautiful and horrifying, thank you. You can make the armor non-metal tho, right? Also, why not use sign language/gestures with your "hands". Although, I'm not aware of any rules for sign communication, except for maybe thieves' cant, simply because it would be quite hard to argue that thieves' cant doesn't have any hand gestures.

I do 3lv Circle of Moon Druid, then 3lv Totem Berserk, then 3 lv BattleMaster Fighter and the rest is Druid. You got a killing machine with a lot of resistence, with a lot of utility attacks, double and sometimes triple attack, enough selfheal and you can get lv4 animals and elementals. Dont know if it is possible to want more.

Eldritch adept with armour of the shadows is a nice idea. I use the combo of resilient (Con) and war caster. With a proficiency bonus of +5 and a con of 18, that’s +9 and advantage on the Con saves for spell concentration. As an earth elemental that’s even +10 and advantage. Works really well. For communication i gained access to find familiar with a raven. It’s much fun to roleplay it mimicking the npc‘s talking styles to communicate with the group while in wildshape.
@Hyde_Hill2 жыл бұрын
For me it is probably War Caster (Keep concentration and opportunity attack spells and full hands spells), Resilient (make the con saves), Telekinetic ( Always use for bonus action and move enemies into AOE and allies away), Fey Touched (Misty Step + Bless/ Silvery Barbs or others), Telepathic ( Fun communication also in wildshape), Lucky (Always good), Alert (win initiative and no surprises). If you are going for mage armor from eldritch adept just use magic initiate instead for 2 more cantrips or get the shield spell.

I really like the combo of Mobile and Charger for wild shaping into a Dire Wolf. Ground based "Fly-By Attack" as you'd get to attack using Dash action and not worry about AOO == but I have to ask; can you use Dash, attack as a Bonus action then continue the Dash? Or just normal movement after the attack?
@mystery61472 жыл бұрын
Not really a feat, but one level dip into monk for monk’s unarmored defense since druids don’t get many feats/ASI Monk’s unarmored defense is generally better then armor of shadows since it 10+ beast dex mod + your druid wisdom. Add bracers of defense to that and you get a minimum of 17 ac on almost all wildshapes.

War Caster. Throw down a concentration spell and wild shape as a bonus action.
@Nerdarchy2 жыл бұрын
Our biggest thing with war caster is the other benefits won't be as useful. Resilient feels like a better choice for the bonus. Playing a fighter/wizard gish who would cast haste often showed me that advantage isn't always the best solution. I had advantage on dex saves, but my bonus was still terrible. Now combine the two would work, but it's a lot of resources. Just some of my thoughts on it. -Nerdarchist Dave

If you took the unarmed fighting style could to transform into a mosquito and do 1d8 damage with a bite attack?

Bites could count as Natural weapon attacks though... Headbutts could probably work, just sayin. It's a lot funnier too, this tiny mosquito beating you incredibly hard by bumping into you.

What do you think of an Aberrant Mind Sorcerer - Moon Druid?
@Nerdarchy2 жыл бұрын
It's a good combo for the reasons we like the telepathic feat. Nerdarchist Dave
@ripopol2 жыл бұрын
Actually, the lack of components on Telepathy is entirely irrelevant. The rules for wildshape dont actually say "you cant cast spells with verbal or somatic components because you lack the proper bodyparts", they just plainly state "you cant cast spells in wildshape". And because the spell isn't a turned into a Druid spell by the feat, the later "Beast Spells" feature, which overthrows that general rule for wildshape, cannot grant you access to it either. (No i dont believe any reasonable DM would rule it this way, most would probably be fine with it. But this seems to be the RAW) You can of course cast the spell for surface-level thoughts, turn into a beast and THEN trigger the delayed saving-throw effect to steal their deeper secrets.
@Nerdarchy2 жыл бұрын
Fair enough points, but the main pick here is telepathy. That isn't a spell and will work just fine. For telekinetic we want the ability to shove people around. Both are half feats so useful abilities and stat bumps are our reasoning. -Nerdarchist Dave

For a druid in general, the chef and inspiring leader feats allow you to bolster the whole party. It's especially helpful if you're summoning a bunch of beasts to give them treats and a pep talk and now they all have extra hit points.

Magic Initiate is better for a Moon Druid than Eldritch Adept is. It will give you Mage Armor once per day plus two cantrips instead of only giving you Mage Armor on yourself only at will.
