I love your use of wrestling terms for turns from good and evil. I have often felt that there was a cross pollination between superhero fans and wrestling fans.

Well, I really like the twists in the end of every storyline,you'll never expect what will happen...and that's what makes it a very interesting to read.

To be fair, after the first few Terra issues, you can't really say there was a heel turn there, at least not in the Judas Contract proper. The brilliance of that story is that she's portrayed as evil ALL ALONG. You KNOW she's an agent for Deathstroke. It's just written in accordance to the tropes around the face turn, and it never happened. The expectation is always there that she might just see the light and do the right thing. Therefore, when she double downs on the sociopathic evil, it's a shock and people FEEL as if there was a heel turn there. even though she was portrayed as evil all along. Wolfman just knew our expectations and played against them.

I'm okay with just saying that the biggest heel-turn goes not to Jean Loring, but to Identity Crisis itself.

Hulk becoming Maestro, Warlock becoming Magus. You missed a couple.

Didn't Marvel do a bit where the Falcon turned on Captain America and was supposedly a Red Skull pawn all along?

I'm in that overlapping portion of the Venn Diagram that is knowledgeable of wrestling and comics. Glad you guys worked in what a "heel turn" was to the comics fans. Are you going to do a top 10 Rogues Gallery for Captain America (Steve Rogers) any time soon?

They did the same in the opposite direction.

No mention of Collosus joining Magneto? It does pale in comparison to the majority of this list, but it was a pretty big deal to his characterisation at the time.
@patrickjennings81168 жыл бұрын
huge deal.

I wasnt convinced by Identity Crisis ending. I think the Atom was the murderer but Dc didnt dare to make that move.

Not to be that guy but Steel never claimed he was really Superman. When asked , he said he was a guy Superman saved and inspired to carry on his legacy.

I'm just going to let the others go unless asked. But like your list

This was probably the worst number one I ever saw y'all do. Really? The crap that was Infinity Crisis? Oh, no, the JLA tampers with villains' memories so they don't know their identity. Oh, no, they did it to Batman, too! Oh, no, a d-list character killed another d-list character. Seriously! No mention of Onslaught! Xavier turning on the very team he created? The only two I agree with on this list were Terra and Green Lantern. I don't count Phoenix cuz it wasn't Jean. But I accept that over fucking infinity crisis.
@themysteriousretrogamer96557 жыл бұрын
xmn12380 Xavier didn't betray his team, his mind melded with magneto's which caused them to turn evil. And Jean Loring was more of a B- list hero.
@xmn123807 жыл бұрын
Jean Loring wasn't a "hero", she was a hero's wife. And it doesn't matter how it happened, Xavier still turned on the team. his evil self is still him, just repressed.

identity crisis justified batman contingency plans.

No Collossus turning on the Xmen to join Magneto??? No Professor X turning into Onslaught and wrecking the entire Marvel Universe??? Jeez, man, this list reeks of DC fanboy aroma all day. I disagree with your list.
@kylefunderburk41948 жыл бұрын
Onslaught doesn't count because Prof. X wasn't in charge of Onslaught.
@patrickjennings81168 жыл бұрын
He totally counts
@kylefunderburk41948 жыл бұрын
Professor X didn't turn into Onslaught, he inadvertently created Onslaught with the memories of Magneto he took. Professor X didn't turn bad. Onslaught was created evil.
