I did well on halcos too off the rocks. I gave away my lures to the locals before leaving.

I just got here, and I noticed it is on and off raining. Will the rain affect the fishing, do you fish right through it, or does it depend how hard it is

You are there in the Rainy or Green season. It's going to rain for 6 months. It does not bother the fish one bit!!

i tried some sub surface stuff by rapala, traditional plastics on jig heads and some smaller jerk bait lures that didn't have the casting distance i felt was needed for surf fishing.

I’ve put all types of tackle in my carry on. First time I did it I was worried I’d have to check as I had a lot of lures with big treble hooks and a box just of hooks. Wasn’t an issue. I’ve done it many times now. Only have done this flying domestic in the US but I have a trip planned to Costa Rica in August and will be putting tackle in carry on. Worst case they make you check it.

@@see_you_out_there any general locations to stay where the shore fishing can be opportunistic? Unfortunately there’s not much travel info on areas in general for someone wanting to fish the shore while on a family vacation. I hate to ask because some people feel that it bring unwanted attention to areas, but never been to Costa Rica.

@@robmoon2836 tamarindo is the easiest place without question. We have a fishing vid from there catching jacks from the shore.
