I'm using IKEA MArkus chair on work and it's awesome. I'm working as programmer and I have 8 to 10 hour shifts and I've never felt bad after getting out of it. I recommend it 100% The arms align with my table at work so I'm not bothered at all.

I do use since several years the IKEA Markus chair. To make it even more comfortable I bought special memory foam cushions (used for disable people chair), seat and back. That add roughly 70 extra $ but is WAY more comfortable if I sit for several hours. Since then, they added a new model called MATCHSPEL for gamer. It does have folding armchair, which is a plus. I picked Ikea for two reasons : good price and durability and would do it again without hesitation.

I have a 13y/o Ikea Markus, and apart from slightly ruined fake leather, it's still going strong. Paid 150euro at the time. Today you can pick one under 170. I actually prefer this style of armrests, since they are very solid and metal, and i prefer to allign my desk with the armrests, not the other way around. Soon i'll be buying new furniture for an apartment, and i'll get another Markus, and a desk with the right height.

The mellet come with a standard back and a mesh back. Standard a few bucks cheaper. Is the mesh worth the upgrade?

@@kingmarx810 i think it depends. If you like the backrest to be soft and more comfy, then go for padded. If you want it to have more airflow, then go for mesh. Mesh isn't comfortable enough to rest your back without a shirt on. Keep that in mind

this is the video that helped me make the decision to finally pull the trigger on the branch task chair. i don’t have a great frame of reference because the desk chair i was using prior was like, $50 (and absolutely felt like a $50 chair) and the chair i use at the office is a haworth fern (nice but way out of my price range). got the task chair when it was on sale for $209 and after a few months i’m really happy with it. obviously not as aesthetically pleasing or comfortable as the haworth at the office but absolutely worlds better than the budget chair i was using previously. i don’t notice it on the days when i’m sitting for long periods of time without getting up. tldr: thanks for helping me find a solid desk chair for a reasonable price

BTOD has brought this up in other videos but the Ticova is available at multiple prices. The most common price is around $169 but there is often a discount available. They've had a $50 discount for the last few weeks so the chair would only be $109 which is a great price. I would also add in Colamy Kirin for about $139 which they've since reviewed as another great option.

Also this chair makes no noise and is very quiet and sturdy. Lumbar support is pretty nice and the head rest is too. It will have your butt be kinda numb after long hours of sitting but that’s most chairs haha. Overall I think it’s an amazing chair for under $300. Great for gaming and work from home which is what I do with it. Feel free to ask me anything about it.

If my budget was $300 for a chair and I wanted the best quality/comfort I could get I would try to find one of those office furniture liquidators. Most major cities have them. Get a lightly used commercial chair that would cost $800-900 new rather then spend $300 for a new one. Sure you won't get a warranty but it will probably outlast the new $300 one.

the IKEA Markus is actually incredibly cheap here compared to the price in this video. I will definitely try it when we finally find the time to visit IKEA again, possibly just going to straightup purchase in on the spot. My current chair is bottomed out entirely and I've just been stacking IKEA garden chair pillows on it to keep it comfortable and it doesn't recline at all, leading me to assume a very unhealty position when I do try to (eventually just set up something to lay on where I can still see my monitor well enough to watch youtube).

Just hunt for a used Herman Miller/Okamura in the price range between €300-500, some handywork may be required. But it is well worth it. Mind that good deals appear rarely and you'll have to hunt for some time.

I would never pay that much for a used Okamura chair. I think that brand is very average and if we consider the price they charge, I think the brand is pretty overrated. -RB

@@btodtv HM can be also considered overrated and a huge chunk of price is baked into delivery fees - it arrives in a huge wooden box, fully assembled. From UK to Poland the shipping fee is almost £260 if my memory serves me right.

I have been using an Ikea Marcus chair for 4 weeks, with my 92 kilos the padding of the seat is not at all suitable now I feel like I am sitting on a metal plate it is so uncomfortable for others chairs that I had lasted at least a year or 2 before noticing this kind of problem. The Clatina is unusable for anyone over about 5'10'' I'd say. Very shallow seat and when you slide it forward you sit on the back edge. Seat needs to be about 2 inches deeper.

Within Germany/EU you should aim at the Ergotopia NextBack. Developed by docs & physiotherapists, and it's got very good reviews. The Mellet looks a 100% similar, but without the head's rest. Similarity might not be a coincidence... Cheers :)

Really upset with what happened with me re: Ticova. I ordered the chair (after extensive research), they sent me a chair that obviously someone had returned. Every thing was unwrapped and there were no instructions. I finally was able to get the instructions (they have bad customer service) and then I realized IT WASNT THE CHAIR I ORDERED. It supposed to be the one you feature. I wish I had had a better experience as I feel burned and don't want to waste anymore time with that company. Amazon refunded my money; and I'm supposed to just put it out in the trash (I'm going to put it out on the night I know pickers come through). Thanks for the info on these chairs. I may have to try the Oline, but it also appears to not have free refund (And it's $319 now).

I'm surprised that neither of the Staples mesh chairs, the Dexley or the Hyken were in the list. You covered the Hyken in a prior video; my main issue with it after a quick try-out is that the head rest hits my shoulders. The Dexley has less adjustability but is better for people with larger torsos like me. I've been letting my son use my Aeron but I think I'm going to reclaim it and get him a Dexley but I will re-watch this video to consider whether it's the right choice. The price is right (for others, if you go this route, note that the online price is lower than the in-store price so purchase online and then pick up in store. Weird but true.)

I've tried it in an Ikea, and i find it way worse than Markus. Yes, it's more adjustable, but the armrests are flimsy and plasticky, compared to the solid metal in the Markus. Also the sitting cushion is incredibly short. I would not recomand it.

problem about them is that they don't have xl sizes for tall people , secret lab and diablo have xl sizes and they have ergonomic design

They have XL sizes but they are several hundred dollars more than the $300 or less requirement to make this list. I disagree that they have ergonomic designs. If you are going to pay that amount of money for a Secret Lab chair, you may as well get a proper ergonomic chair. -Ryan
