*UPDATE* It is very possible that I did not lock the seat pan by pressing the knob in (this is my fault; I assumed it worked like the Gesture's seat!). The headrest apparently can also swivel, but when I was testing mine, I put SO much force on it, the entire backrest felt like it was going to break (see how the thing is bending backwards?). Therefore, I stopped trying in fear it would break the chair. Thank you to the comments for letting me know! Currently on the lookout for a new ergonomic chair in the low-mid budget range. I watched few other KZbin channels before stumbling upon yours. I really like the way you present both pros and cons, the video quality is awesome too. Other channels are just trying to sell me things which gave me this untrustworthy feeling. I understand the majority of your (KZbin review channels) budget is made up by the affiliate admissions but I feel like you are the first one to actually care about showcasing both good and bad features in the products that you review with priority of customer satisfaction. Keep it up, the quality of your presentation is undisputed; +1 for the algorithm in hope KZbin recommends your channel to more people.

I just purchased this chair on Amazon for about $250 and it arrived yesterday. It's packed very well and only took me about 20 minutes to put it together. Everything including an Allen wrench was included to assemble it as well as 3 spare bolts! PRO'S Pro's for me are that the chair is very well built and sturdy. I discovered that the headrest is actually a 3 POSITION ADJUSTMENT, not just two as outlined in your video. The third adjustment is at the bottom of the back of the headrest. If you didn't look very closely at the hinge point, you would never know it moved. (Also, there is NO MENTION OF THIS ADJUSTMENT IN THE MANUAL THAT COMES WITH THE CHAIR!) There is about a 1/4" cutout gap in the hinge assembly joint between the part that is screwed to the back of the chair and the vertical part of the headrest where the two parts are screwed together. This gap limits the actual movement of the headrest forward and backwards when the headrest is adjusted front and back. The pivot point is extremely tight and difficult to move which makes sense as you don't want this to change from the weight of your head on the headrest after you have set. This minor adjust MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE in the comfort of this chair when sitting upright or all the way back relaxing. The entire headrest assembly can pivot forward and back about an inch or so which translates to a movement at the top of the headrest of a couple of inches front and back! It's Awesome!! Overall, I agree this is a very well made chair. I'm 6' 1" tall and I have long legs. With the padded seat bottom cushion fully extended towards the front of the chair and my butt placed as far back as I could sit, I have about 2 inches of gap between the front cushion and the back of my knee/leg area. This will take a little getting used to for me because my prior chair was an old Hon Brand Chair and it had a very large square and deep seat cushion that was very flat. This new chair cushion feels more dome like than flat when sitting on it. I suppose this is to place more of the weight on your butt muscles and bones and less on the front bottom of your thighs. This shape also allows your legs and feet to tuck under the chair when sitting upright a little easier with very little pressure on the underside of your thighs near the knees. I love how the seat bottom can be moved forward and back easily with the knob on the left side of the chair. Just remember to Pull the knob out before turning it, then PUSH THE KNOB IN TO LOCK IT IN THE DESIRED POSITION after you set it to your desired position. Failing to do so will result in the seat cushion sliding easily front or back when you get into the chair as you complained about in this review. Amazing what you can learn when you RTFM folks! Overall I'm very happy with my purchase of this chair. It's very comfortable and should last a long time. CON'S Con's for me are that the arms are positioned OK for normal work, but don't tilt back much when you recline as you outlined in your video. This is because they are attached to the seat assembly, and not the back assembly as some other do. Also, the cushion top section of the arm pads seem to move too easily front to back and side to side when placing light pressure on them like when sitting down or getting up from the chair. I wish they were more firm or locking. The other thing I noticed immediately was that compared to my prior chair, this seat doesn't have a forward limit tilt lock setting or adjustment for normal working seated position. For me the seat feels like it is tilted forward slightly instead of flat or tilted back a little while I'm seated all the way to the back of the seat cushion. For most folks this won't be an issue, but my prior chair had an adjustment for the seat tilt angle in the fully upright position, so for me it will take a little getting used to. Also my prior chair was a nice rocking chair in that the bottom seat and the back were locked together with the arm assembly. The entire chair rocked back and forth which was very nice for watching moves and videos in a relaxed position at home. This new chair bottom doesn't feel like it moves nearly as much when leaning back as it is not connected in a 1:1 ratio of tilt with the back of the chair. Again, for most folks this won't be an issue. I was also concerned about the lumbar support, but I have to say that it's just fine for me. The up and down settings do provide some additional support and focusing of the pressure position on your back, but again it depends how far back in the chair you sit. There is only up and down adjustment, no front to back adjustment, but honestly for my frame and posture, I really find it to be comfortable and just right when it comes to additional support. Finally, the arm pads are nice and large, but very thin, stiff and made of a firm plastic/rubber type material. I will be purchasing some cushioned covers for them. The ones from Aloudy Brand appear the be the ones I will try from Amazon. SUGGESTION Thanks for doing this review and I would suggest you may want to think about reading the manual in its entirety before doing reviews on products so you don't shortchange the products because you don't know how to correctly and fully operate them. If I had only watched your review, I probably would not have purchased this chair, but after watching many other reviews about this chair, especially the one by BTODtv which can be seen at this link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaXOoXqurq57i5Y I decided to purchase it and I'm very glad I did. I'm very happy with this chair and I think others will be too. And NO, I'm NOT a bot or a representative for the company. I'm just a normal home office guy who appreciates a fully informed review to help me make some decisions.

For anyone wondering the headrest does move forward. You can clearly see it's notched to move it is just VERY stiff from the factory. I applied quite a bit of force on it BEFORE I installed it onto the chair. You just have to try and rock it back and forth. At first it won't seem like it's moving just keep rocking it back and forth. It'll move a mm then two! Eventually it'll have a nice range. Like I said do it when it's off the chair tho. If it's on with the amount of force it takes to get moving it's likely you'll crack the frame.

I bought this chair and all though the head rest does move. You just have to really pull almost feels you’re going to break it. But you were right the lumbar support is terrible. Unless I was sitting super straight all the time it would dig into my back. The arm rest also felt a bit wide. I would’ve preferred it didn’t have a lumbar support. I’m thinking about the branch. I really want as many adjustments and with a head ready for a similar price. @ahnestly is that what you would suggest ? I saw the hinomi v3 classic that’s on sale right now but I’m not sure of all mesh chairs.

I'd love if people reviewing chairs add their "Sitting Shoulder Height" (when seated, measure from bottom sitting on the seat to the base of neck where the bone sticks out a little on the back of the neck). This metric is crucial. It measures your seated spine height. And can give great indication on if the back of the chair matches your back. Is it tall enough, too short, where does the lumbar sit, can it be adjusted enough. With this measurement people at home can reference it to see if they will have a similar experience with the backrest.

I bought this chair 2 weeks ago and so far it works quite well for me. I'm 6'3" 220 lbs and have recently had hip surgery and this chair has been a blessing coming from a cheap hbada chair.The seat pan adjustment knob pushes in to lock the seat in place so it won't slide on you. Side note the arm rest on My chair move a little easier than I would like. If you lean your elbows on them, sometimes they will slide out on you. All in all I like the chair quite well the lumbar is perfect for me, the seat could come out another inch an that would perfect for my long legs, seat cushion is pretty comfy. I have sat in it for about 3 hours straight with no discmfort.

After watching days worth (no joke) of ergo chair reviews, I keep coming back to the Soji. It's right at the very top of my budget and missing a headrest, but besides that, it seems to fit all my needs. Every reviewer has nothing but praise for it and I believe even for the somewhat hefty price, it still punches above it's weight class. I can't justify a Fern so I think the Soji is the one. I purchased this chair after watching the review btod put out. They basically completely passed over the lumbar support. They mentioned it for a second and then moved on. It was a complete deal breaker for me. Like you said, that hard piece of plastic was digging into my back so badly it was unbearable. I even tried to use a ratcheting screwdriver to remove it, but it was impossible to get off, so back the chair went. If only it was a softer plastic or had a pad on it this chair would be amazing. I appreciate your review making a strong note of it, I was rather annoyed btod glanced over it.

Did u not lock the seat pan before moving your hips forward? Mine came unlocked and it did that to me and I thought it was broken. Great chair, but the lumbar doesn't go up as high as I would like for a 5' 10" person. Also it has an indentation in the lumbar support where the ridges of your spine can get caught. It's where the screw for it goes in and is cut so deep so it won't cut the mesh. I just put a piece of silicone in there and put a foam pad sticker over the plastic support. It fixes most of the "digging in" problem. The headrest at its lowest lever doesn't get perfectly into the nape of your neck if you're below 5' 11". I am just under that and it sits just under the topmost part of the nape of my neck. The headrest screws are adjusted super tight when you get it initially. Before you try to adjust the bottom angle, adjust the hinge back and forth with pliers if need be before you attach it to the chair. The frame is not sturdy enough to loosen these hinges initially.
@optionstraderman
@optionstraderman Ай бұрын
I adjusted my headrest lower pivot point after putting the chair together and while it is very stiff initially, you can slowly move it front and back a few times and it does loosen up a little. It has to be stiff to hold the weight of your head when you are fully reclined, so I like it stiff. Unfortunately, "This" adjustment is not outlined in the chairs manual, but it's definitely there and it works well. The back chair frame is very flexible and should be able to handle the adjustment without any issues after its fully assembled. Just go slow and even on both sides of the headrest support arms with your pressure and it will be fine. You should be able to see about a 1/4" inch gap in the hinge assembly which represents the forward and backwards stop positions in the arm movement. Slowly working the headrest arms back a forth a few times will prove successful. Good luck!

Also the headrest arms can pivot all the way until it nearly hits the back rest. It takes decent force as the pivot is stiff. I just spent waaaay too long removing the 4 screws holding the lumber support in and it feels AMAZING NOW. I also took apart the arm rest and put a cut up piece of eraser behind the 4 detents and the adjustment is STIFF now. Cranked down the single screw for the side to side adjustment and thats also stiff now too. Having previously had the clatina and returning it just becasue the arm rests being too far forward and not very high. The colamy wins BUT ONLY AFTER REMOVING THE LUMBAR which was nearly impossible and required a low profile ratching wrench. As well as the other mods I've done.

If you have to sit in it all day, I'd probably suggest that you forget all of the "Gaming" chairs and look at good quality office chairs with lots of adjustments like the this chair. Most dedicated "Gaming" chairs have little to no real comfort adjustments and very straight backs and tight curved sides and bottoms like sitting in a giant bucket. Not very comfortable after a short period of time and they don't move with your, they keep you from moving. Yeah, most tilt back to a recline position and might even have a foot rest built into them, but the real thing they are selling is a cool "looking" chair with lots of colors and company logo's! In my opinion, they are just a "FAD". If they actually would put that money into building a real adjustable comfortable and functional chair, I think they would really have a good product. I just purchased this chair and I'm very happy with it. Check out my review above for my likes and dislikes. Good luck! So far, I really like my Colamy Atlas Chair.

I currently have a Steelcase Amia chair, that is a much more expensive chair, and the "4D" armrests move around pretty easy and sloppy much like the ones on this chair do. I think it's a common thing for the design. Pushing my armrests all the way back seems to help them move around less. Thumbs up for awesome reviews and videos!

@@Ahnestly RH logic 220 for example. They are a very reputable furniture company in europe (scandinavia) but are not well known in the US. Kind of like Håg, although their capisco model is well known. I sat in a 220 and am pretty sure I'll end up buying one

Dan, normally your reviews are awesome but it seems like you rushed this one without fully understanding how the chair works.

hey! I def missed the seat pan one...I assumed it functioned like the Gesture's! That's on me! I put a note in the pinned comment. As for the headrest...I demonstrated on camera just how much force I put on it to try to get it to move...the entire chair backrest was bending backwards! I could not get that thing to move and I stopped trying, fearing I would break the chair. To me, that's a non-functional headrest!
