Thanks for sharing these newer pop ups. You asked for favorites, so I’d start with the Rockwood Highwall HW296 because of the additional sofa. The kitchen in those is pretty fantastic too... better than a few of the comparable weight travel trailers. Love your channel.

I am curious if some of these larger pop ups come without the wet bath. I just think you would have more privacy with a shower hook up outside, a bathroom tent, and one of the portable toilets they have. This would also free up space for a bigger fridge and more dry food storage.

We looked at the Rockwood High Wall and like others have said, you should probably just give up and get a travel trailer. We ended up with a 2021 Coachman clipper 1285SST pop-up which had much of the same features without the black /grey water tank and we have a cassette toilet. We have a king/queen bed, slide out dinette and we weigh about 1000 less that the Rockwood High Wall.

🤔I like the Rockwood Highwall HW296. That is the size of my current 2003 Coleman pop-up. Oops, the outside pictures for the Rockwoods is the HW296. I’m guessing the HW277 picture was hard to find. Do you two get out to camp much? When can we see your starter rig up to your current set up. Thank you to both of you.
@RVBlogger3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, Yup it was hard to find an exterior picture for the 277 and when we shoot at RV Shows and dealerships sometimes they are packed in so tight we can't get a good exterior shot either. Plus the 296 and 277 are almost identical. We camp quite a bit but we are remodeling our Class C over this winter. We figured with COVID it was a good time to do it. We don't have video of our starter rigs from 30 years ago and we haven't taken the time to show our 2008 Gulf Stream Conquest but we will as we get into the remodel... Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎅🏻 Mike and Susan 🎄

We have three kids aged four and under. We recently got a new SUV with 5,000lb towing capacity. We love camping but noise from other campers and light are issues with little kids. I’ve been drawn to bunk house, light weight RVs in my research but like the low profile of a pop up for garage storage and ease of towing. Long winded but my question is: How is the light blocking and noise in a pop up? Is it worth considering a pop up or is a lightweight RV better for little kids?
@RVBlogger3 жыл бұрын
Hi MIss C, Great question! We have camped in both and think the travel trailer would definitely be the better choice for light and noise blocking. Thanks for watching and commenting! We hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Mike and Susan

Hey guys, (Mike & Susan) I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering where you have been. Glad to see you both back. Why can't all pop ups offer the amenities like the Rockwood Highwall HW227 has? Seems they are the same size and definitely the high price range... Oh, you asked which was our fav's, mine of course are the last two with the wet baths. The last one also had the small couch at one end and the dinettes were awesome big, being a slide out. I just don't understand how the others can ask such big bucks and not offer much more than sleeping. I guess I'm just partial to ones that at least offer a toilet, even if you only use it at night so as not to have to go outside to the outhouse. I would always use mine though, that's what they are there for... Thanks for sharing and good to see you again..... 🌳👫🏡🚙🌷🌼🌞 PS, I don't know if you remember me from the last couple of seasons? I was always searching for a small, tiny rv for weekend getaways. But we are now searching for 5th wheelers. We were going to buy a second house in Fla plus have a small rv. But since they make such nice big 5th wheels, instead of the second home in Fla., we will just get the 5th wheeler. Less upkeep with two homes and we don't have to stay put in one place, we can travel around and enjoy different places we have never been before. Wishing you both a Merry Christmas 🎄 and please stay safe 😷

We are past the point in our lives where a pop-up would work for us. But I think if that's what you want, and I know people that do prefer that living in a tent feeling, you'd be foolish to buy anything but a high-wall unit. It's really more of a soft-sided travel trailer, rather than a pop-up. Having said that, if you are travelling on your own, that 860Q would work just fine. You would probably want a heated mattress though.
