Mayfair is one of the most exclusive areas in London and it is known for its luxury hotels and proximity to Buckingham Palace. As a Londoner, if I could only visit 5 places in Mayfair these are the ones I would choose in order.
Let me know in the comments what your favourite spots in Mayfair are.
Coming in at #5 is the world’s oldest hat shop Locke & Co. They have been making hats since 1676 and are the creators of the iconic bowler hat.
#4 is having breakfast at the Wolsely. If you want to rub shoulders with London’s movers and shakers then head to the Wolsely for breakfast.
#3 is visiting two iconic London Bookstores, Waterstones on Picadilly and Hatchard’s.
#2 is the Royal Academy.
Founded in 1768 (Mayfair has longevity), the Royal Academy of Arts or the RA is unique because it is run and funded by prominent artists and architects, known as the Royal Academicians.
But if you only go to one place in Mayfair London it should be
Fortnum and Mason
Established in 1707, this upmarket department store has two royal warrants. The building is a London landmark.
