I loooove Smashbox Always On. My HG foundation Urban Decay Stay Naked was d/c’d and this not only replaced it, it outperforms it. I have combo skin and it feels lightweight, doesn’t break apart in my oily spots, and wears all day long. Highly recommend.

I have combo oily like you. I think I need to try that Fenty stick foundation. I’m 51 and as you know the foundations that used to work don’t work as well for me anymore! One that still looks really pretty on my skin is It Cosmetics original cc cream. And, Estée Lauder double wear. But, I have so many more that just don’t work no matter how much I try. I LOVE the Laura Gellar powder foundation! I also have very oily skin and live in Texas. My tips are 1) use a mattifying primer (I actually like Rimmel's) and 2) I use a dense brush and stipple it on - then buff it out. I do get a little break through shine during the day if it's hot, and if so I can also lose coverage. But it is so pretty, easy and natural looking. The Double Take Baked is heavier and matte-r. It is easy to get full coverage with it, and it outlasts the Baked Balance and Brighten. I like using it as well.

Thanks for the reviews, especially the Eaze Drop Tint stick foundation. Laura Geller's Baked Balance and Brighten doesn't work for me either. On my combo skin, it oxidizes a shade darker in a few hours and also gets oily looking over the course of the day. I prefer the Shiseido Synchro Skin S-R Custom Finish Powder foundation.

I have come to love Laura Geller Baked Balance and Brighten Color Correcting foundation after trying it about 5 years ago and not liking it. I looks great on my older skin and is so easy to use. When my skin was even five years younger, it oxidized on my skin and doesn't oxidize now. I also like the baked bronzer and the baked blush, but a little of the blush goes a long way. I can put the foundation on early in the morning on a hot day, sweat a bunch and this still looks good. At my age, I like the shine very much.

I wanted to love the maybelline but it was super drying on me and emphasized all my pores, lines, and texture. It aged me at least 10 years. The smashbox is my go to right now. I absolutely love the skin like finish and it last through my whole 12 hour shifts and more

My favorite combo is Australian Gold SPF 50 tinted mineral sunscreen, with a light dusting of either L'Oreal Age Perfect Creamy Powder foundation or BareMinerals OG Original Mineral Powder foundation over top. And I buff, buff, buff! I feel the SPF is more important than a perfect foundation finish - heck, I'm 63, with sensitive, rosacea-pissed-off skin, dark shadows and spots and lots of lines, so perfection is way back in my rearview! I'll settle for decent, but not perfect. Thank you Stephanie for your time and effort - these videos aren't easy or quick to produce!

Ahhh so sorry the LG didn't work for you. It's one of the best foundations I've ever tried and I absolutely love it. Probably the only one that never goes cakey on my oily skin during the day, just beautiful. The only downside is that they don't do a shade for my skin colour (porcelain is way too pale, fair way too dark).

Me too!! 😄I’m 46 and I’ve tried various foundations for combination skin over the years, I always come back to True Match it’s so flattering, lasts and is easy to work with. It’s great with or without a powder over it. It’s so dependable and yes the shade range is fantastic too.

I rarely buy drug store foundations but gave the Maybelline a try, I was surprised how much I liked it. Nice coverage, long lasting, good shade range. I also tried the L’Oréal which is similar but did not like it as well, probably because I like coverage and found the L’Oréal much more shear. I’m 60 but still quite oily and found it stayed on pretty good.

So I have been on the search for a good foundation for the last 15-20 years. I’m trying the L’Oreal True Match right now and it’s ok. But not great. My two biggest fails have been Laura Geller and Jones Road. I have dry skin, but in San Antonio, we sweat! And it’s humid! The LG just rolled off my face in lovely colored streaks and the Jones Road actually separated on my skin. It looked like I was peeling sort of. Or maybe like my face was sliding off…😂 so I am trying Carpe sweat absorbing face lotion and it seems to help, but since it’s well over 100 everyday, it’s still pretty bad. So far the true match works, and I have also used revolution skin tint. I prefer some coverage but for it to look natural. I have red splotches to cover, but don’t like it to look like makeup and prefer a more natural look. Always wanting the impossible. Lol. Anyway, thanks for the video and some new ideas to try. ❤❤

Quick question... Do you set the Laura Geller foundation with powder? If not, that could be the problem. When I didn't set it, I had the same problem as you with my oily complexion, but even though this foundation appears to be in powder form, it's still a cream and must be set. Thanks for the reviews. I so wanted to love the Smashbox Always On (I'm a Double Wear girl)...but I'm really struggling with it. It really accentuates my pores and texture. I've never had that before! Oily, yes, but not all this texture. I've tried several combinations of primers, and setters, but no luck. What primer would you recommend with this?

I finally found my favorite with the maybelline super stay serum. I’m 58 and for my skin type it looks great, lasts all day and I’ve had so many compliments on my makeup and skin since I started using it.

Me too! I'm 46 with dry, sensitive skin and I find this to be VERY skin-like and flattering (with a lovely but not overwhelming glow). It has decent coverage, particularly given that it's a skin tint, and it really does last! If you are ever looking for a more fuller-coverage product like this, I've also got the Dream Radiant Hydrating Foundation by Maybelline. It's equally gorgeous on the skin but it's got more coverage and it is really long-lasting on me! I recently wore it to a big family birthday party that I helped throw and I had it on for 13 hours and it really held up through dancing and hugging/kissing a zillion people and sweating through the clean-up and break down (on a nearly 100 degree day with high humidity). I was so impressed! It's not my every day foundation but when I need the coverage it's been awesome. I like it about a million times better than (what seems like) everyone's favorite long-wearing affordable foundation, L'Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear.

Stephanie, I looooove the L'oreal Serum foundation, so I had high hopes that the Maybelline Skin Tint would be just like it, but longer lasting. Much to my chagrin, it makes me look "shiny", almost "greasy", by hour 2 or 3, which the L'oreal does not do, and it emphasized my fine lines and pores. I did not expect that! I will try to finish the bottle as we enter autumn, and will not repurchase it. Thank you for the review. I was one of the people who asked for your opinion of it!

@@mels7360 I was really surprised, based on the claims of being "SuperStay" and 24-hours's wear, that it seemed to gather in places and disappear in others. My L'oreal fades gracefully, and most importantly, plays well with my 2 favorite sunscreens. The Maybelline did better (on me) when I tried it inside with no sunscreen on, but since I never, never, NOT wear sunscreen, that' a moot point.

Hi I'm 51 with super dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin - my everyday powder is the Hourglass ambient powder and it's really beautiful on dry/mature skin. I only need a light dusting and the full size has lasted me two years (I wear makeup about half the week). It's enough to "set" my makeup without drying me out. I hope that helps and it is available in a smaller size to try. If that's out of your price range (remember though it lasts ages) then Kiko makes a similar powder - their baked radiant fusion powder in the silver toned compact. The shades are a little different, but the powder is very similar on the skin. x

I tried a few high end water based primers and foundations, now I am trying the Loreal skin tint. So far, I can't find any products that blurred the pores well. I am 44, T zone oily, dry on the rest, and I used to LOVE Estee Lauder Double wear. I have more fine lines, and I am feeling like the last couple times I wore it, it made me look older. I always use my hands for this foundation, but do you think if I used a damp BB, it may look better? It was my holy grail OG, so I hate to find another one. Does the Estee Lauder Double Wear not dry out or cake on skin considering it's matte? I heard matte foundation settles in fine lines. I'm combination skin.

I can't get more than tops 6 hours (really more like 4 hours) out of any foundation. Even Estee Lauder Double Wear. Tried primers, etc. Just always wears off/melts into my skin (combo).

I fell for the hype and went ahead and bought the house Labs foundation the one by Lady Gaga I'm 51 years old and thought I would do I want to try this oh wow it is the best foundation I've ever used for the price I thought boy it better be. So now I like doing my makeup a little bit more because that foundation is amazing

Dry skin here and 53 and I love it . I have a winter shade and summer shade and the white shade to use as a mixer for other foundations I’m not in love with .

I have combo skin with large pores and texture and love the Haus Labs foundation. You need the tiniest bit, so it’ll last forever. It’s truly beautiful!

Haus labs is my favorite for date nights or any time I don’t need it to last a long time. I love the finish and how pretty it looks on my skin but it doesn’t last through my 12 hospital shifts

I’m curious why no one ever reviews Merle Norman. I cant find anything I like better than their Lasting foundation & powder foundation compact. Well, Lancôme is a runner up. I too have very oily skin & live in SC.

That Laura Geller pulls super orange on me no matter how I swirl it 😢I wanted to love it but no. It’s super deceiving because I picked a shade she had on one of her models with the same skin tone as me 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I love both the fenty esze drop tint and the stick! I love wearing the stick as my everyday quick makeup and the tint for my everyday if I've got to be out a little bit during the day. At 67 and retired with oily skin, I only need lighter foundations unless I'm going somewhere special.

Stick foundations are denser than liquids. That’s why it looks like less and contains less. A little goes a long way yes 👍🏼

I get greasy shiny with MAC powder foundation too. Is there a powder foundation for mature skin that doesn’t make an oily complexion a greaseball?

My two faves are MAC Studiofix and Fenty and Essence for drugstore. But any powder foundation wears and looks better with a primer and setting spray! I'll be updating my top powder foundations soon, but I do have a previous video with my top picks if you want to check it out!

I have dry/normal skin and I have tried to persevere with the Laura Gellar as well and I just cannot abide it. It clings/clumps onto any hint of dryness .. even where I thought I had no dryness .. particularly around my nostrils and chin .. I just don't get this product at all - sorry!!!

I just purchased a lot of Laura Gellar makeup for the first time due the great sale prices. I love the foundation! It looks so natural. But I live in the opposite climate from you- high desert, no humidity. 62 and normal/dry skin.

I have tried the LG foundation multiple times and it doesn’t work for me either. I have normal to dry mature skin and it looks terrible on me and the compact ALWAYS breaks. I don’t ever carry in my purse or travel with it and it always breaks. I love her products but this just doesn’t work for me. 😢

I find it interesting that you get so oily after wearing Laura Geller Baked Balence and Brighten. Melanie at MrKong's Mom, has what she says is extremely oily skin and LG is all she wears for as long as I've been watching her channel. I'm more mature than you, and live in Michigan, so no climate issues to deal with. I enjoy LG off and on. Why off and on you may ask. Well, that's because I have probably a dozen or more foundations that I rotate just for the pleasure of it. I only have 3 that would be in my empties, and 1 that I repurchased. But there are many days that I reach for my LG Baked foundation.

Doesn't she live in the north? Climate makes a huge difference. Not only climate, but your basic skin chemistry and the skincare you use, etc. Everyone is different and that's why I always include my climate information. I may not be as oily as someone, but when extreme humidity comes into play, it can take a toll on your makeup.

I find that not all oily reacts the same. I've yet to find 2 KZbinrs who have same skin type describe a foundation the same way. One will say satin skin like (whose skin?) and another will say radiant ? I take most reviews with a grain of salt.
