Excellent video, every church I've attended just picks out 2 or 3 verses from a book in the Bible and preaches from that. I've NEVER BEEN TO A CHURCH THAT HAS READ AN ENTIRE book and taught from it on Sunday. I long for that day but until then I watch videos like yours and read the Bible most every single day and I love it and I love GOD and his SON JESUS!

I longed for this too and found it in a weekly online Bible study. There is too little time and too little understanding of God’s word in modern day “churches” to satisfy this desire. They don’t preach and teach the entirety of the gospel. For me, a real Bible study had to be done and found outside the typical /business model of a “house of God” that so many so called preachers hide behind with their prepared sermons and formal services, not allowing themselves or their congregations to bring up or discuss new questions , ideas, or concerns
@sseltrek1a2bАй бұрын
"not teaching the whole counsel of God" is a "huge" problem in modern churches right now..."Pastors" are nothing more than motivational speakers disguised as such, and rarely teach through the Bible anymore (it's usually one "teaching series" (topical sermon) after another...)...this is why it is so hard to find a solid church to be a part of these days...

Pity we preponderantly use the word 'pastor' when we should be using 'elder', perhaps 'overseer' or 'superintendent'. We also seem to think that an overseer of a congregation is a solo job. The NT talks about them as a plurality. Titus hints that both males and females seem to be involved. If we have a paid servant of the church they should be a 'teacher' or even a 'pastor' as one who comes along side, but not an 'elder' in most cases, I would think. Teaching is what the modern congregation misses out on. Not on a 'verse by verse' basis, as the 'verses' are merely a referencing or locating tool. The text is written in coherent passages and we should study the passage in its broader context always. Nor is a 'sermon' that is 'preached' a good means of study. This has become a liturgical ceremony and is ineffective. Lectures are a poor means of teaching particularly where behaviour or belief are involved. Far better to engage each other in discussion over a passage. Besides we don't 'preach' in the congregation, we 'preach' in the world as Paul did in Acts 17. That is, 'preach' is proclamation or argument of the gospel to unbelievers. Hillsong also seems to want to build a performance hierarchy with its 'leadership' training. We need to focus on training for service. Sure this can involve productive or social influence (what 'leading' amounts to IMO), but we need servants who can manage their service responsibilities, for which training *is* required but on an apprenticeship basis, not a text-book or class-room only activity.

@davidward5225Ай бұрын
IMHO the vast majority of churches today don’t have biblically qualified elders and it dramatically affects the body in all those churches, unfortunately. Once again well done, Caleb.
@ludwichpretorius9596Ай бұрын
Just a comment. I am not sure that the word translated as bishop (1 Tim. 3:1) in some translations, is correct. It should either be overseer of elder. Not pastor. These are two different greek words, but are used interchangeably throughout the new testament. Thank you for your efforts.
@remmik7275Ай бұрын
Thought this as well.
@jamesstacy3228Ай бұрын
The pastor model is faulty by having a single leader of a 4:20 church. In the early church, the Apostles like Paul "pastored" new congregations, but he saw that elders - plural, we're appointed as qualified men were developed.

Have you ever heard of "School for Prophets" KZbin Channel? I wonder what your take on his Bible teachings would be. He is an sda, and his channel is growing pretty rapidly. He has made a few movies calling America the New Babylon, which i don't agree with because Babylon is Babylon, though America may be one of the daughters of the harlot. Anyway, i was just curious about what you would think about some of the claims this guy makes. He also quotes Ellen white like scripture, but when I've asked him about that during his live streams, he denies that he views her as scripture, but says she "agrees with the Bible", which i know for a fact isn't true because I've done my own research into her, I've read The Great Controversy, and I've checked her references and seen how she has completely misrepresented entire "denominations" and she pulls quotes from people like John Frith out of context to make it seem like they were sabbath keepers, when they were not. Sorry this is so long

Dont get so swept up in pointing out the false teachers, that you forget to teach truly. In scripture when paul pointed them out it was left at that and then the true way was taught or at least outlined. Do not make pointing fingers out to be worship. Even if correct

Hillsong and most churches are feel good churches, music is no different than the world's music .Folks feel good based on their emotions . Finding biblically based churches today is like a need in a hat stack. No one talking about the narrow way is about giving up self . #1 is Christmas which is Christ Mass , Dec 25th is not about Jesus , it's Saturnalia,winter Solstice.Whats amazing all this info is on Google.yet so many continue in this wicked pagan day. And they are not interested in God's truth, They want their pagan traditions and they have the other gospel which is Satan masquerading as a angel of light and his followers as righteousness which is counterfeit to word of God
@dagwouldАй бұрын
Most congregations of Christians also think they meet to 'worship' instead of to 'edify' one another. The focus should not be on 'the man at the front', but on each other with numerous contributors and speakers/discussions. This way more people are trained, encouraged and built up to teach and to communicate the gospel. The modern church implicitly teaches its members to be passive listeners. But our faith is one of action, not of audiences. BTW, I don't see a problem with Christmas. Don't be frightened by the etymology of words. What better to remember the incarnation; and who cares if it displaces a pagan ceremony. Paul even says one could eat meat sacrificed to idols...the idols are a 'nothing-burger' so don't matter if you attach no weight to them.
@michaelnewzealand1888Ай бұрын
Wow, what a statement, try playing "What a beautiful name it is" or "hosanna" or "king of kings" by Hillsong and then play any 3 songs by Metallica, Black Sabbath or some modern rap singer and make a true comparison. Not even close.

@ithinkbiblically I'm wondering how you're going to go about starting a home church, if there are elders to lay hands on you and confirm that you're one who is acceptable in the sight of the Lord in order to be a pastor? The same way that a biblical church would go about establishing a pastor, are you going to go through the same process, or have you already done that?
@soldoutforchrist-andy1232Ай бұрын
Hi there, did you know Hillsong does not have these 2 pastors in staff ? It’s been about 3 years I don’t know why you use them as the thumb nail photo? For views ? The research needs to be accurate in all aspects. This is disappointing.

If you watch the video I talk about how Hillsong could have avoided the controversies and moral failings of the past if they had read and taken seriously the 5 verses talked about in the video. I think its a good topic and hopefully people think about it for their own church.
@VaradiAttilaАй бұрын
0:19 “bishop=pastor”. I think you need to create a video about the 5 verses you need to read also. Let me explain why after this Ignatian bishop heresy from 107 AD I immediately stopped watching your video. Ignatius of Antioch was a similar ambitious “builder” to Diotrephes in 3 John who wanted to be the first amongst the brothers thus John was going to rebuke him. Same with Ignatius. But the apostles used the words episcopos and presbyteros interchangeably in Titus 1,5-7 the verse you should have IMMEDIATELY read before creating this video. Episcopos (bishop) simply means overseer, presbyteros means elder. It was the heretic and narcissist Ignatius of Antioch who created the pyramid system of putting the one man show to the top, giving a new meaning to episcopos as the boss, without whom you can't baptize, have lord's supper, marry, and do anything in the ekklesia. Ignatius of Antioch is the father of modern Babylon, churchianity. The pyramid of Ignatius is like this: bishop, deacon, average Joe. Just read how at the “church service” in 1Cor 14 doesn't even talk about the pastor giving his sermon (which monologue speech amongst believers is non-existent in the NT). Also Ignatius coined the term "catholic church”. So you need to create a video about the five verses YOU should have read before starting your pastor cult. I think biblically therefore I stopped watching you. Thanks for reading and humbling yourself.

Large on condemnation based on no real review of facts, and the accused has no opportunity to respond. This video is an absolute horrible example of how to call for discipline in the church, a cavalier approach to condemning others.
