As much as I'd love a home playoff game in December this team has been playing better in away games than at home so I'll take a playoff road game. Just get in. The mission is clear.

This is the deal with the 1st CFP ranking.... If we are ranked within the top 11 spots, then the committee has shown that ND has an opportunity to win out and get in. If we are outside that group, then the committee has shown that ND will not get in at 11-1 unless a few teams lose multiple games. It's just that simple .....

It will work similar to last year when FSU was left out. It will be who the commitee feels is CURRENTLY the better team head to head to set the order.

They'll never keep it consistent. Because if they do they'd have to justify their selections. That is also why there is no STANDARDIZED, publicly released selection criteria. #theformatpodcast

Hey John. I have this paranoia that a 1 loss Notre Dame could still be left out. And not even because we get screwed by the committee, but because there are enough 2 loss teams that have more impressive resumes than ND. Florida St and USC sucking is kinda screwing us and what if A&M gets 2 more losses? And what if the big 12 get two teams in because BYU looses their only game in the Conference Championship Game so the mediocre BIG 12 team gets in cause of the automatic bid? And same for the ACC and Miami. I would assume that a 12-1 BYU and Miami with their only losses being in the conference championship game would be ahead of Notre Dame. And also like a two loss Alabama or Georgia

YAWN. The general college football populace is probably weary of watching ND always lose by multiple touchdowns to the power teams. People want to see competitive postseason games!

I think Vanderbilt will be 16, so I guess we Irish will be 17, or 18.

AP polls sucked, BCS was horrible, Playoff Committee is all bias to wherever they graduated from. The only wat to mitigate the bias is to have a 12 team playoff up from 4. However this is still not perfect... no idea how to fix this.
