OMG YES!!! Told me my waste pipe to city was collapsed right at the clean-out cap (straight shot clean out, no bends). Went to garage, got a 6' pole, shoved it right into the pipe without hitting anything (the blockage was always tree roots ½ way to city). Told them to leave immediately and they did without any money from me. I had heard about these scams on the news, so was alert. I have about 3 more stories of crap plumbers. USA, IL, Chicagoland.

Hi Bruce! Watching from Sweden, love your channel, it just popped up in the flow one day not long ago, courtesy of “the algorithm” (so it’s not all bad, I’m happy it recommended your channel at least!) 😃 I haven’t been ripped off by any plumber, but I have a hopefully interesting story about our kitchen drain that got blocked probably ten years ago now! We live in a three storey rental apartment house, first floor, so a couple of neighbours live above us. One day our kitchen sink started bubbling and water poured up from the drain filling the sink and overflowing onto the floor (complete with food scraps)! The drain had become totally ”choc-a-bloc” and one of the neighbours above us were probably rinsing their pots and pans. Immediately called the landlord who then sent the plumber. They tried their hardest to jet it out but to no avail and half destroyed the cabinet under the sink with overflowing water carrying decades of accumulated grease and other ”stuff” even though they used the pipe and bucket trick to try to catch all the excess water. But it wouldn’t come loose. Turned out that the old 1960’s cast iron drain had totally collapsed and they had to jackhammer the concrete floor down in the basement and replace the last part that connected to the main sewer under the building! 😂 The cabinet was repaired and thankfully the drain has been working great ever since. Sorry for the long text, but I hope you and the other viewers of your channel would appreciate the story!

I have to raise a delicate question. For those of us who are still feeling the loss, is there any final news on the fate of the original Mr German? I have been clinging to the hope that somehow, one day, Mr German will be dug up and reunited with the kit at Drain Cleaning Australia. Anyway, that's enough of my morbid rambling.
