Great info & very accurate! I was very fortunate to do some work for a client that used to carry sensitive measuring equipment to trade shows for work. He's retired now and had, HAD, a pile of Pelican cases in his garage when we went to do work for him. As we were loading up and leaving I mentioned how good the cases are and that we use them all the time. He agreed and paid us. As we were about to leave he said, "Oh and take those cases with you. I don't use them any more and they are just taking up space & gathering dust". We left with 2 - 1510, 4 - 1560, and 2 - 1620 cases. Needless to say, we don't have to buy cases for a while! LOL. Thanks for sharing & keep up the great work! You'll be over 50,000 subs before you know it!

Sandbags for tripod weight. Built my tripod from an Amazon Ravelli tripod with a Proaim fluid head and a Menard's center rod pole. Got custom feet for it so it has less moving parts and it has soft grips on 2 of the 3 legs so I can quickly invert the tripod with my camera still on it to use it as a shoulder rig. $160

Hay Danny, Love your videos, very helpful! One big thing that you left out is insurance! After you told the story about how the wind blew over your tripod, I just knew you were going to say “and this leads me to the next boring but Necessary purchase...insurance “, but alas you didn’t! So, my question is what type of equipment insurance do you have and who provides it? Thanks for reading this post!

on point. i hate buying storage, it just never ends. with cases you can go cheap and order some from alliexpress, they might be not that tough as peli, but in situation when it brakes, equipment in sturdy case will probably get damaged as well. what about cables? :)

I also started my photo carer with cheeping out on tripod. One morning at the beach while i was taking a long exposure image for several minutes. I wasn't paying attention to my camera, and suddenly the wind nocked over my tripod and camera, and it smashed right down with the front of the lens on rocks. Luckily i had a ND filter on that took the hit, that saved the lens. After that experience, when i upgraded to a new camera, the first thing i did was i bought a more expensive and sturdy carbon fiber tripod, and i haven't regret it.

Danny Gevirtz Hah, I’ve never heard it put that way! I was just curious, because I just sold a Schneider Black Magic 1/4 as it was just too soft and glowy for me. I haven’t tried the Pro Mist, and unfortunately there aren’t rental houses or things of that sort around me, so it’s hard to try these things out. Curious of picking one up down the road.

Loving your content. You seem real and don't take yourself too seriously. Only thing I don't agree with on this list is music. Musicians spend as much money on their gear, have the same investment of creativeness, and have the same need to be paid for their art. We're brothers in this world :) My music gear cost as much as my visual gear and most of it is now software! Ha! I love the fact music sites are out there for our films. We're pretty lucky.

Got everything on the list except the light stands. You right tho, it is painful spending the money on the "boring" stands, but they are necessary. :D Really should invest in another fluid head tripod, just not sure which to get. Suggestions? As always, good video.
@DannyGevirtz6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching brotha! Pretty much good with any manfrotto that hovers around $300. But if you wanna go cheap still Neewer has like a $70 decent tripod. Neewer always kills the game haha. Not very fluid tho honestly.

@stupidfresh305 None of the gear in this video was expensive or me boasting about wealth. Not once did I say you need expensive gear to be a filmmaker. I actually preach the opposite in most videos. The gear I do own, I've earned through putting the work in to make good video content for clients. Your "joke" was you calling me "rich" and trying to poke fun at me. You don't know my situation or even understand the concept of the video which makes it ignorant. So you're either 13 years old and just don't know how to communicate properly or you're crazy. If you want to be taken seriously don't call yourself "stupid" in your username.
