Where to start without making this sound like a book. Conner (cool name btw), you are good teacher, your style I think works for me. Are using Da Vinci for video editing? I am also a fan of vintage things.. and we have the same book (doesn't everybody on youtube nowadays!).. so did you own that car or just rented it for shooting this footage? I have been thinking about LUT as Dehancer is quite expensive...are you using the PRO? Will you say the price justifies the efficiency (save your time = money?)
@ConnerJohn27 күн бұрын
Ayeee that’s awesome! And oddly enough, my father and I just bought it so we could renovate it. So the timing worked out perfectly for this video. So here’s the thing, with a LUT, you can’t fine tune it, you have to NAIL the footage perfect and even then you still might not get the look you want. With dehancer, you can easily get an awesome film look that replicates thousands of different LUTS. So if you get a LUT pack… it might look good on some clips. But if you get dehancer you have the ability to make any clip look great… in many different ways as well. While it is expensive, I think I would have to buy dozens of LUT packs to even get close and that would end up costing more and be less customizable.

Did you use Apple Prores Log for your iphone footage? Or do you just shoot in standard with their processing baked in?
@ConnerJohn21 күн бұрын
I wish I could but I only have the 14 so I don't have their LOG profile available :/ so i used 4k 30 in Prores SDR but also tested it with just the standard 4k 30
@BlackhawkOz20 күн бұрын
Nice, do you think it's worth even having the pro phones then with prores log or can just make do with standard 4k 30? Considering the file sizes are so huge with prores anyway
@ConnerJohn19 күн бұрын
Based on what I have seen, It's worth it. But ONLY if you want to add a creative look and have that flexibility in post. If youre doing like vlog style or you just want it to look true to life with very little grading then I would stick to standard to save the file size

Looks great but then I looked at the price and thought no wonder people use pirated software these companies just don’t seem to have a grip on reality, most of their customers are not actually working in the film industry they are just small time artists, over 400 for a set of colour plugins when I can buy a ton of luts for 10 bucks off insta,🤬🙄great video by the way😅
@ConnerJohn21 күн бұрын
Haha i understand what youre saying. But LUTS are missing the built in customization which is insanely helpful. Not long ago I would have totally agreed but after using Dehancer for some time I definitely see the value. The price is a little steep but I think, in the long run, it will save me enough time to justify it! And thank you! I had a blast making this video.
