@Audrey Flett which book is your favorite from perel?
@audreyflett87194 жыл бұрын
Berkay Akbey “Mating in Captivity”, and then her most famous Ted Talk “Rethinking Infidelity”. She’s more of a speaker, rather than a writer, as she often says herself. And if you want to go deep, then her series of podcasts “Where should we begin”.

But because of the politics of marketing and the non comprehension and the worst used of sun tseu... the art of war, yes it's very difficult to make that efficent... Paticulary in some country.... where ego it's so much hight in non high educated people... But you right we have to try as much as we can, even if it's difficult....

Hello, nice video. I have a question, but it' s different from the subject in the video. I asked my teacher why do we say "someone HAS died" instead of "someond died", for exemple in a news. He told me that s because the person had been living until such fact happened. Do you agree with the explanation or there is any other for this case?
@ЛёликМосква4 жыл бұрын
Of course there are some points about using Simple or Perfect. "Has died" because 1) we've have result now 2) there's not exact date in this sentence

Hello! I am not an English native speaker and I am a little confused about the usage of "HAVE" meaning ‘to cause to happen’ or ‘to experience’. So, I understand the structures are: "Have + object + infinitive / -ing form" or "Have + object + past participle". For intance: 1) I had a package delivered yesterday --> What does this sentence mean?: a) I recieved a package which somebody sent to me yesterday; b) Somebody sent the package because I asked her/him to do it for me yesterday (causative form) May it be that something is missing in the sentence? 2) He had me wash his car OR He had me washing his car. --> The first structure is clearly a causative, but...What kind of grammatical structure is the second one? 3) I have something happen to me. My experience: Something happens to me. I had something happen to me. My experience: Something happened to me. I have something happening to me. My experience: Something is happening to me. I had something happening to me. My experience: Something was happening to me. Are any of those sentences written above even correct? Is it an idiomatic matter, but not grammatically right? 4) I have my car stolen. My experience: My car is/gets stolen. I had my car stolen. My experience: My car was/got stolen. Assuming that sentences in case number three are correct, can I say: "I had my car steal"? I reckon I cannot, but...why? I know that "My car was stolen" is a passive voice, but "Somebody stole my car" is an active voice. Thanks in advance for your patience and response. Stay mellow!

I'm sorry to say that, to me, this kind of books is only lame psychology and pure bullshit actually. Success in anything means hard work, good luck and personal skills. Anything more than that is just moot agitation. If you really want-and have time-to look deeper into business psychology, just study 25 centuries of major philosophers before us who will give you a real insight into business and mind and social mechanisms.
@LetThemTalkTV4 жыл бұрын
Have you read them? I don't think it's right to criticize books you haven't even read.
@stephanestephane42914 жыл бұрын
@@LetThemTalkTV Don't get me wrong I'm sure you're recommending and picking out the best books of the kind. But the kind is terrible. I've just dowloaded the first two of them and read some lines to check out. And just as expected, they are repetitive and lack in substance terribly.. Do read philosophers instead of fakers !
@LetThemTalkTV4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've read a lot of philosophy. And one important lesson the great philosophers has taught me is not to pre-judge. only comment on what you know not what you don't know. Frankly criticizing books you've never read is foolish. If you understood anything from the philosophy you've read you'd know that much.
@stephanestephane42914 жыл бұрын
@@LetThemTalkTV Philosophy has mostly taught me to discriminate deep ideas and moot dregs of the thought... You're right in a general way but I'm not criticizing books or one book in particular but a genre, The genre of trendy books about social psychology, self improvement and such, unvaryingly made of a bunch of truisms and dull commonsense tricks. This is just second rate pop literature without substance ,literature for dummies. once you've read one of them you've read all of them, so repetitive as they are

Hello from France! If you've been here from more than ten years maybe you watched the Camera Café TV Show. It was quite popular and used to be broadcast after the "vingt heures" at a time when many people are watching TV. I'm commenting about it because just like this anecdote about Gilette razors, TV producers long denied the idea due to the fixed plan (interview of an author and actor of the serie in which he explains it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6q3dnWbfsiWbLc) and yet it was a success. leroy Francis Lewis my English teachers in school taught us that “got” should be avoided if possible. They said that “got” was a filler word for a better word. For instance you could say “I purchased a car” instead of “I got a car”. They felt that using got anywhere in your speech made you sound less educated. This is in America, if that makes a difference. I know that I personally I use “got” all the time.

And we have to be conscient oof the problem... and help each other more... In the modern context, since the nineteen century, even at low economical level, it doesn't works so much... But your right we 'll have too try anyway.... In Pôle emploi for exemple, they have a pape for the conditions of the workless to have economical helps.... if they found a boss.... it's simple, you can think, you ask gently the paper, they 'll give you... Oh no!! They have a lots of stupid excuse with no reason to not give it to you... Believe me I try... if you''re in France, nowodays it's not that simple....
