I know no one's gonna read all this but, it's kinda funny because I'm a college student that recently got a V6 mustang and there was this guy who owned a V8, exhaust, lowering springs everything, and I happened to hear him start it (there were two girls walking behind the car and they literally jumped in fear) and I was thinking damn that's amazing I wonder who this guy is, nah he probably could care less especially since I own a V6, you know how us young college students are. We ended up parking next to each other yesterday and were getting out of class at the same time and while in our cars we just started talking for about 15 minutes about mustangs. Since class has started in January he always parked in the same kinda spot never seen him back in before and I parked in the same corner spot and always back in. Today when I got out of class he was backed in right next to me, made my first car friend.

that sounds delightful, shows that you should never be afraid to approach other car guys! the worst thing theyll do is ignore u lol, i have made a lot of car friends from the road or highway and parking lot hahah and now we roll to meets and cruise together! i still cant talk to stranger cute girls tho hahahaha

Dawwwwww. Honestly the V8 elitism only exists in KZbin comment sections. Even on Mustang Forums, I've had V6 S550 owners save my ass sometimes since some of the parts on our cars are identical and they can tell me exactly what is wrong with my GT. Like I said, it's usually just some salty 12 year old whose like, "BUT MUH V8, GET A V8, YOU'RE SO POOR" And they don't even realize that getting money is harder than they realize, but also that 400+HP is not the greatest in the hands of the inexperienced. That's why my Brother owned a V6 before moving to the V8 Camaro.

I think non car people are more to blame for the development and prevalence of automatics. After all, early automatics shifted slow as balls, had practically no gears, and were less reliable than a Lada that hasn't seen service since it fell off the assembly line
@cckiller00535 жыл бұрын
Well automatics can be fun when you feel the jerk back when you feel the car shift.
@TheEmolano5 жыл бұрын
You get a automatic if you don't care about reliability or about throwing money away. Also, only buy automatics if you're going to buy a new car(or if it's a Toyota). The only place automatics are worth is in heavy traffic cities. Otherwise manuals are better.

My advice would be: Stay away from the rich kids. Some are nice and just happen to have a lot of money, but in my experience, most are self centered pricks who care less about cars and more about stroking their own egos. However, people who worked for their car are almost always very nice and easy to talk to. After all, our car is 100% the result of our own blood, sweat, and tears. Remember the cars of the nice rich kids and try to talk to them every chance you get. They usually have the freedom to find good meets and good people to know

The Mazda MX-5, released as the Mazda MX-5 Miata /miˈɑːtə/ in North America and as the Eunos Roadster or Mazda Roadster in Japan, is a lightweight two-seater roadster with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. Manufactured by Mazda in Hiroshima, Japan, the model debuted in 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show. The MX-5 was conceived as a small roadster - with light weight and minimal mechanical complexity limited only by legal and safety requirements, while being technologically modern and reliable. The MX-5 is conceptually the evolution and spiritual successor of the British sports cars of the 1950s & '60s, such as the Triumph Spitfire, Austin-Healey 100, MG MGA, and particularly the Lotus Elan. The second generation MX-5 (NB) was launched in 1998 (for the 1999 model year), the third generation (NC) model was launched in 2005 (for the 2006 model year), and a fourth generation (ND) was released in 2015 (for the 2016 model year). It is the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history[1] and, by April 2016, over one million MX-5s have been built and sold around the world.[2] Production of the MX-5 had fallen by 2013 to below 14,000 units, due to the world finance crisis in 2008, and the pre-announcement in 2012 of the coming ND model. Since the launch of the third generation, Mazda has consolidated worldwide marketing using the MX-5 name with the exception of the United States where it is marketed as the MX-5 Miata,[3] and Japan, where it is known as the Roadster. The name "miata" derives from Old High German for "reward".[4]

I guess I am a mix of Lurker and Noob then. I don't go to car meets often (as they're not here often) mainly cause I am a pretty competent mechanic now, now working on turbo's btw :P but regardless, still an introvert, so social interaction is hard for me period. And yes I was quite embarrassed showing up in that old Malibu when there was that 600HP BMW there with an inspirational owner haha

My Maverick has has a three speed standard transmission and it never fails. Some knucklehead will say, “You got the manual. That makes it a muscle car.” I facepalm and then I have to slowly explain that muscle cars also got automatics and the muscle car era ended in 1970. My car is a 1975. Then the bewildered looks begin. I hate doing that. It makes me feel like an elitist. Tough being an owner of a daily driven classic car.

@filmandfirearms5 жыл бұрын
Then you've mostly met bad hoonigans. I, however, have met quite a few highly skilled hoonigans. So far, my favorite is this guy with an '03 Silverado RWD who loves doing donuts, burnouts, and drifts. It's amazing just how well he can control that big ass truck. It's actually lifted by a couple inches, too

Task Reflex just right out a list of what each one offers you. And a list of what you NEED in a car and see which one gives what you need and then from all the ones that have you needs met pick the one with more of your wants. If the mustang can do everything you need your car to do and that is your first pick go for it. I need 4 seats and a reasonable price. I wanted a compact car that was nimble and always performed predictably. Rx8 fit the bill plus I love hooning on it and hearing it scream out to 9k+ rpm.

One thing I do notice about the car community irl is that people are wayy nocer than online or even than most people my age or younger(im 18) im at school and all I hear is people roasting each other, and on the internet all I see in the bottom of car videos is negativity jo matter what it is, if its a cheap car they pick at it, if its an expensive car they look down on the owner as if he is illegitimately rich and people have whole arguments over performance numbers and shit and call each other outside their names because they disagree or because they didnt know something, but its a good thing those people stay home watching youtube on saturday mornings and let cars and coffee pass them by, because at every car meet i’ve went to Ihave never had anyone be mean to me and everyone is willing to talk about their cars, mods and nobody is talking shit about each orhers’ cars if they are cheaper, slower, quieter, or uglier than theirs(ok maybe uglier), one of my local meets has a burnout contest and we even cheer the stock civic on when attempting to do a burnout(but then laugh when it doesnt happen)

I own a v6 at the moment but I definitely want to upgrade as soon as I feel comfortable driving with this hp. As u mentioned in your previous video, it’s better to get something faster over time.

All are good choices, except the Base model 3000GT. I'd save up for the SL if possible. However, just in general, the community around the 3000GT is very small, especially in the U.S. So it's not a car for amateurs with little experience in working on cars. Whereas the Forums and Communities for the 300ZX and 240SX are MASSIVE. And the aftermarket for those cars are excellent as well! They'd make for a better learning experience, but if you're up for the challenge, than I won't tell you not to get a 3000GT.

Most of the time, people at meets, track days etc are pretty cool. True car guys won't judge you by what you drive and are happy to talk cars. It took me years to get my STI so i can appreciate anyone who's just starting out. Most of us don't have the option of getting a Lambo as their first car (or ever).
