My baby is 3 months old and we have fought to continue bestfeeding with recurring thrush (3 times) which can cause my nipples to get dry cracked and bleed. First use lanolin (similar to vaseline) to ease the pain, just remembered you will heal when your baby is latching correctly. Our baby's wouldn't just starve because they latched wrong. Second treat bleeding nipples like an open wound lots of air 🌞 Third trust your body and supply do not worry about the numbers, you are giving your babe nutrients no one else can!!!🎉🙏

My baby is 3 weeks and 3 days old and I have been experiencing pain the whole time. It's incredibly frustrating because none of my tips from the lactation consultants seem to help enough. I come home and continue with the tips they give and I'm still experiencing pain. Hi mama! It can be so frustrating to be in pain with breastfeeding. I hope it is starting to get better for you. There are so many things that can lead to a painful latch, so even if you are doing everything right, it could be due to some tightness or limitations of movement with your baby’s mouth. If you have worked with lactation and aren’t seeing improvement as your baby grows, other things to consider are a Tongue tie evaluation, bodywork/ craneo sacral therapy, or infant chiropractic care. It sometimes takes a team! (I am still struggling through this now, and my baby is almost two months!)

Hi! I am so sorry things have been difficult. You may want to consider working with a lactation consultant to see if they can help you with a plan for nipple care and protecting your milk supply while you are working through this. If your baby is currently unable to latch, some pumping (on a low setting if needed for comfort) may be needed to protect your milk supply. Baby or pump should be taking milk out of the breast at least every 3 hours to protect your milk supply.

Hi Raji, if your period is still late and if you continue to have nipple pain or breast tenderness, consider getting a pregnancy test. Breast pain can also be normal just before your period, but if you are concerned, or it doesn't resolve, contact your Doctor.

This can be completely normal, as long as it goes away within the first 20-30 seconds, and not causing nipple damage. When a baby first latches the nipple is close to the front of their mouth, near the hard palate and can initially feel uncomfortable until baby works the nipple towards the back of the mouth where their soft palate is. As uncomfortable as this sounds, it sounds like your body is gearing up for lactation, which is a good sign. Definitely would avoid lotions and anything with scents. You could try coconut oil. Silverettes are a little pricey but are a great tool for healing sore nipples both during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

I stopped birth control 3 weeks ago and my boobs started hurting a few days ago with a usual period cramps etc. so I'm guessing my body is preparing for a period or it's getting used to not getting a pill every day. Some nipple pain is normal with hormone fluctuations around your cycle. If you are concerned, talk with your doctor about what you are experiencing.

I took the morning after pill yesterday and I took it 2 days late and I’m scared because my nipples really hurt and I looked up what can cause nipples to be sore and it said some stuff about baby’s! And breast feeding 🥺 am I pregnant.

Hi Jazzy, sometimes other hormonal fluctuations other than pregnancy may cause nipple pain (such a the hormones in the morning after pill). If you haven't missed your period yet, stay calm and see if your period comes. If it is late and you are still concerned about pregnancy, certainly take a test and speak with your doctor.

Recently I had very light periods after 1week of my periods my nipples start hurting when I touch them usually this happens before I get periods ...but this time it's after my light periods nd my nipples are paining since from 10 days ....what should I doo??🙂 please help me

@@lunabear2171 hi . Yes,after several days the pain just disappear by itself . I just got my 2nd period since and it happened again after the period is done but not the same level of pain as the previous one (one day only) . So i think it's just really part of our cycle . Nothing to worry about . I hope you wont worry too much and not get too stressed out about it. Im sure it will go away .
