Do I have to plug another set up RCA cables from my 5 channel amp to the HU separately, for my subwoofer? I will bridge 4 of the channels to power a pair of 2 way component speakers for the front (massive ck6). Im using the last channel to install a subwoofer. Currently I have a set of RCA cables plugged into my HU's front speaker output, to my amplifier.

It's funny how you can be so critical of my stuff when most of your videos have black bars on the side because you're holding your phone the wrong way for video. But at least you post videos compared to most trolls. And the quality is what I expect.

AnthonyJ350 I'm not even a serious KZbinr. I post for shits and giggles not to relay serious info. Diamond Louis XIV Well know this. Instead of giving constructive criticism you come off as a self entitled little s***. I have corrected this issue over the past year. And not everyone is perfect, so yes my earlier videos aren't the greatest. But it's ok I make enough $$$ which reflect my improvements. Don't expect someone like me to help out someone like you that comments with that much disrespect.

Anthony great video, question for you. I have Alpine HU w/ 6 RCA pre amp outputs, w/ stock tweeters in dash, Kicker Components in front doors and Kicker 6x9s in read deck. I am looking to add a 5 channel amp so I can get clear sound and also add a Sub later on. My question to you is, I believe Stock Dash Tweets are connected with door spkrs, where I connected the Components. When I install Amp will I have to separate comp from dash tweets, or just wire to comps and it should feed dash tweets?
@AnthonyJ3509 жыл бұрын
Typically the factory tweets have a capacitor wired in line so they don't play lower frequencies. If you're running the set up now off your Alpine, I see no problem amplifying them. Just when you set it up play it at low volume and monitor for distortion.

Final question, I will be running an extra pair of RCAs for the Future sub, should I leave them plugged into the amp even though there is no sub at this time, or will that weaken other signals?
@AnthonyJ3509 жыл бұрын
You can plug the RCA's in with no sub. I just wouldn't put the speaker leads in, until you have your sub ready to hook up.

Cool Vid! Hey AnthonyJ- I wanna run two 6 3/4 subs to my rear doors. I have a 5 channel amp and understand how to wire the front door components and the top rear coaxial and it would be simple to wire to a single sub but there's going to be two. How do I run the wire?

I know this is an old thread. I'm using this same amp with a stock honda head unit with separate tweeter and woofer leads. How do I get both leads into the amp? Do i just combined them and RCA them to the amp? Will this damage the head unit?
@AnthonyJ350 Жыл бұрын
You'll need to install some sort of passive cross over. Like a cap on the positive line of the tweeter or a passive cross over from an aftermarket speaker. Or delete the rear speakers. Put the tweeters on the front channel of the amp and the woofers on the rear and cross them over at the amplifier.

How to get that subwoofer signal. I mean I can get 4 rca signals from each of my speaker signals but please tell me how to get 6...Thanks
@AnthonyJ3507 жыл бұрын
You need a summing device like Audio Controls LC7i, or use the pre-out on your 4 channel to drive the mono block sub amp, or use a signal processor.

Hey Anthony, I'm using the same amp for just my subwoofer. I'm adding just a subwoofer to the stock stereo using line output convertor. For the RCA output coming out of line output convertor where will they go in the amp? I'm assuming on the right hand side where it says SUB Channel? And as I'm adding just the sub, will I be selecting 2 channel model for Input mode? Thank you!

Hey AnthonyJ350 I'm trying to save $150 and install myself, a 4ch and mono With the stinger wiring kit, is soldering on the terminals a necessity? And with the fuse holder at the beginning, will i need to do what you did with it? (i'm not sure what that was) Thanks a tonne
@AnthonyJ3509 жыл бұрын
It's a good idea to solder the terminals but technically you don't have to. If you're not too sure about doing the battery hook up I'd suggest asking a shop like mine to do that part for you (so the labour cost is a little less) and do the rest yourself.

Just a quick question that no one shows, Im going to in the future buy myself a mono block amp and i have a after market stereo. My question is when running the RCA wires from the amp to the head unit, what RCA plug ins do you plug the RCA cables from the amp into? I have 3 sets one for front, one for rear, and one for sub woofer. Do i plug the RCA wires from the amp into the Sub woofer RCA inputs?
@AnthonyJ35010 жыл бұрын
Nick Marolt If you're hooking your mono block amp to subs, hook the RCA's up to the subwoofer output on the back of the deck.

on a 5 channel amp when it says 75w x4 & 300w x1 @ 4 ohms then 100w x4 & 600w x 1 @ 2 ohms. do you have to connect the 4 channel side on 2ohms in order to get 100w for the 4 channel side or is it all determined by how the 5th channel is configured 4 ohms or 2 ohms?
@TickleFingers6 жыл бұрын
D Rogers It's the impedance required by the speakers that dictates the draw on the amp. A 2 ohm speaker will pull a 2 ohm load from the amp, 4 ohm speaker will pull 4 ohms, and so on. Most car audio speakers are 4 ohms, but two 4 ohm speakers wired in parallel will yield a 2 ohm impedance. Those same two 4 ohm speakers wired in series will yield an 8 ohm impedance. A single voice coil sub at 4 ohms will pull 4 ohms, but a dual 4 ohm voice coil sub will yield 2 ohms or 8 ohms depending on wiring. If you put another 4 ohm voice coil sub in the mix you could wire 2 dual 4 ohm voice coil subs to be a 4 ohm final impedance. So, in summary, your speakers and your configuration dictates the load in the amp and is not something you can just select the amp to output. This is why amps will state that they are not stable at certain impedance and you should avoid configuring your speakers to draw a load the amplifier cannot properly handle. You'll experience potential adverse effects. There is also increased total harmonic distortion associated with lower impedance, but it does in most cases produce a higher overall power output. If you run a 2 ohm load on the sub channel and 4 ohm on the 4 channel, the amp will output according to the load for each channel. So in your scenario, the 4 channel would be running 75 watts at 4 ohms and 600 watts at 2 ohms on the sub. It is important to understand each piece of your system and select according to your desired end result. There is a lot to audio...... A LOT!

The output of the amp changes to depending on the load the speaker provides.

This doesn't address the empty Power Connector, Ground Connector, Remote Turn-On Connector, as well as the empty sockets for the output channels. Looking around I cannot find a kit/guide, etc for this. If I had known these would be bare empty sockets, I would have gone with another amp mfgr.

@AnthonyJ35010 жыл бұрын
How do you figure? That JL Audio sub handles 250 watts rms and that amp will only put out 300 watts rms at a 2 ohm load and 180 watts on a 4 ohm load. That's totally within spec of each other.
