It's very gratifying to see so many cases solved now. The only bad part is that often the cases are so old that the killer has already enjoyed a whole free lifetime and then died. And often the victim's family have also died. Still, it's good to know.

My parents always taught me to wait in my friends driveway until they safely got inside and locked the door. They also told me to never leave them alone at a party/club. Cases like these are why they taught me that.

A childhood friend and I were talking about this today. Her daughter disappeared in 2003. We know she’s dead and killed by her boyfriend, but her body has never been recovered nor has her murderer ever been charged. She left being three kids. It breaks my heart not knowing where Rachel’s body is and that her murderer is walking around free.

The police didnt do anything extraordinary to solve Virginia's case. The killer confessed to a person who came in & told law enforcement & they confirmed it. She had all types of defense wounds, so I’m sure there was evidence but they won’t do anything because her body was found in New Orleans. Picayune police department is only equipped for drug cases , which no lie it’s known for meth labs but they need more help because the murder rate is getting worse. This was back in the 60’s though. Back then if we’re reported missing it would be in that state and hard for police to communicate state to state due to the lack of technology. Many files were still paper and the name Joelene was very common back then. It’s sad but not a lot to work on.

When the Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal, now long dead, explained why he hunted hiding Nazis, he gave 2 reasons: to capture as many Nazis as possible, but to disconcert & trouble the rest. Some would escape formal justice, but would nevertheless have their bellies racked with tension at night, waiting for the knock on the door. So with modern DNA, not only to give closure to families, but to give bad guys worry, stress & trouble. Not perfect justice, but a kind of justice nevertheless!

well, we had to deal with some cold cases that were solved accidentally of the fact that my niece was being murdered, and being found the day after she was killed, 16 years old, she was walking home from school with some friends and at some point the road to home came to seperate..it was just about 10 mtr through a little bush near a swamp..and it was getting a bit dark that time..she never reached home, a man known as the martial teacher of the neighbourhood and one who always carrying a bible was washing his hands and head from blood and dirt and someone called the cops...this man had been living in the neighbourhood for about 3 or 4 years, was the son of a police officer from another country and was sending abroad to flee because of suspicions that he had killed ppl, but was taken into protection, in the 3 or 4 years he had his resident in the new country he committed 4 killings, 2 nurses, one whore and my niece who came from school. He pointed the police the bodies : one was decomposing and two were skelletons: 3 cold cases were solved...they let us beat this man before the police put him in jail...i guess he is now a free man for good behaviour...and daddy's money to hire a good lawyer..dang this world

Multiple times we heard of a lack of resources but every time I go out to drive a see dozens of new police cars. In my small suburban KS town of 30K, I counted 26 police cars sitting at the station the other day. No wonder our taxes are high…and they still don’t have resources.

respect to all the people who helped solving these cases. After watching number 4 just being labled as "girl who drowned" just made me really sad. No one deserves this fate. They at least got the attention and were noticed by people like us watching the video. Hopefully all of them receive peace in the afterlife.

It's one thing to not prosecute the serial killer already locked up for several lifetimes due to money issues... *it's a whole other matter, to not have looked into the lady's death in the beginning when they had evidence of the killer, but "couldn't afford to have a DNA test completed.* That's unbelievable.

These cases kind of left me want more. Did the grandson who killed his grandma family suspect him, what was the reason? Also want way more information about Jolene, at the very least her age, did the family know the boyfriends name? Thank goodness for social media and it’s ability to aid is missing persons.

I just think that it is so crazy that when you take decades to solve a cold case the killer is already dead and has gotten away with it and usually all of the family members are already dead before they even get to see justice for their family member. But I feel that it is still nice that they are solved.

The photos in the video seem to show certain photos at the wrong time. The suspect is showed before the story gets to the 'reveal' and it sort of is anticlimactic. Great work though and I enjoyed the video

I live right across the street from the Ropers Motel in Pecos Texas. I recall in 2019 when it was ran in our paper again, but didn't know they solved it though. I'm glad.
