Thanks guys! My first sign 1/9/24. I made two mistakes; too much paint and shallow carving on smaller letters. I actually sanded so much I lost the details of the letters. I had to mask the board with tape and re-do the letters. I learned a lot with this first sign!! Thanks again. Tim Halleran

Thanks guys for the tips. I have a bunch of dull bits that I cant get anyone up here across the line to sharpen. Have to find an excuse to come and visit you folk for a day or two haha Being in the Pacific NW during the winter Im lucky if I can get boards under 15% have to let them sit in my heated shop for a couple of weeks.
@oldave1002 жыл бұрын
Ya, being up in that area I imagine it would be pretty tough to find good lumber. I guess you'd better come on down and hang out with us for a couple months!

awesome explanation! I bought a larger router for better control but I see a solid bigger base on my trim router would have helped. Still nice having a new shop toy ; )

Love the cordless routers. Every time I use a corded router the cord would catch on something. Ruined many signs because of it.

I really like the Skil router I recently bought. It came with a plunge base, but it's also fully acrylic on the bottom, really easy to see what you're doing. It's a 2hp, fairly heavy, but I can put my hands around the acrylic base and move it around. Kinda feels like I'm using an ouija board.😄
