As a 30+ year Land Rover owner covering Series vehicles, Defenders, Disco's and both Freelander 1 and 2, I must have been in the minority for liking the DC100. In my opinion, Land Rover should've built it - I reckon it would have really sold well. But touting it as the Defender replacement killed it dead.People just weren't ready back then for something like the DC100 to be the replacement for such an icon as the Defender. But just as Land Rover introduced the Evoque in to the Range Rover range , the DC100 (but with it's own name) would've fitted in the Land Rover family along side the Freelander.

Hit the nail on the head, people just weren't ready for the Defender to be replaced and this project failed because of that simple fact.

Hi team…….. Land Rover/ Range Rover design and build exceptional cars!!!! I know ‘cause I’ve owned and driven a dozen Range Rover’s since 1986!!!! Some brand new and others second hand…… like my 1972 suffix A RR!!! My P38 RR……My 1990 3.9 V8 RR which is currently my daily drive…. I’ve owned it since new!!!! But Land Rover/Range Rovers biggest problem is reliability!!! They use cheap shit to build their cars!!! Wasn’t the Eguinue engine going to be the best engine in the world???? But it had internal parts made of plastic!!!! Totally stupid!!! Land Rover/Range Rover owe it to the buying public to build reliable cars!!! Regards Ian 👨‍🎤🇳🇿👍🍸🍸
