That sounds like a true friend indeed! It's heartwarming to hear about someone going above and beyond to take care of you, especially during a less-than-pleasant experience like food poisoning. It's gestures like these that remind us of the kindness and compassion that exist in the world. It's wonderful that you have someone like her in your life to support you during tough times.

Peter, maybe you’ve already done a video on this but I’d like to hear your story. I’ve put some stuff together over the past year listening to you but maybe you could do a short video from the beginning. Your first time, what brought you to Thailand, when did you first hear about it. Some of your stories situations you found strange and how things have changed over the years. What do you do to fill the day, what did you do in the beginning that you no longer do. Friends or family reactions. Have you lost any of them relations due to your lifestyle. If you could go back 20 years ago would you change things or what was the biggest financial blunder/learning curve.

Hi Pete and great stories again thank you. Actually over the weekend and including your stories I felt a trend of stories where many people have experienced food poisoning in Thailand whether they live there or just holidaying, my family also experienced this which does take a few days away from your holiday. Weirdly enough the guides of only going to well established and popular/busy restaurants does not provide surety either as many of the cases were from the better up market locations. They all had a common theme though and was consistent with our experience... while eating if a bite of something within your meal tasted a bit funny then don't shrug it off and swallow but spit it out and rinse. Example is: we shared many meals but only one person became violently ill and later said... one of the prawns tasted weird. Maybe you would like to bring up this point. It would not work all the time but probably adds just another layer of protection to some extent?
@ThailandBound7 ай бұрын
Your observation about the trend of food poisoning incidents is quite concerning, especially when even well-established restaurants are not immune to such issues. Your suggestion to be cautious and listen to our instincts when something tastes off in a meal is a valuable one. Trusting our senses can indeed add another layer of protection against potential foodborne illnesses. It's better to err on the side of caution and spit out questionable food rather than risking getting sick. Thank you for sharing your experience and insight. It's important for travelers to be aware of these risks and take precautions to safeguard their health while enjoying the culinary delights of Thailand or any other destination.

You do not need the bank pass book. All you need is to prove that you are the owner of the account. If you still have your old passport that you opened the account with will make it easier. Your old passport is linked to the bank account. If you get a new passport the bank requires you to update your account to reflect your new passport. People lose pass books all the time ! Not a big deal ! Go on holiday and collect your money from the bank and a short time.... 😂
@ThailandBound7 ай бұрын
While it's true that losing a bank passbook isn't the end of the world, it's still important to take precautions to safeguard your financial information. Keeping track of important documents like your passbook helps ensure smooth transactions and easy access to your funds. And while you can certainly provide alternate forms of identification to prove ownership of your account, having your passbook handy can streamline the process. So while it's not a disaster, it's still worth being diligent about keeping track of your financial documents.

Good day , Peter. I'm not sure about your other regular viewers, as they may see things differently and may not agree with me. But as for myself, I much prefer your videos on the old format where you have a waterfall or the beach, or some other idylic setting in the background while reading out your stories. (I really enjoy your stories and it doesn't bother me so much if some of them may be repeated on other KZbin channels as well). The walking format is done well by channels such as Buzzin Pattya and Everything Pattya (Yes I watch those channels too, so people, you can judge me and I don't care). So that's all I want to say. I really like your videos, but I like the old format better, with a tranquil waterfall or idylic beac scene in the background. As always, thank you for your videos. Thank you for your honesty and showing your real face and not some damn AI voice. When I hear those AI voices I shut the video down!

I put out a Poll on KZbin to see which format people preferred 50% came back they didn't care 48% said they preferred the new format because it made them feel like they're there and 2% agreed with you so unfortunately the majority has it. for the guy without his bank passbook, go to the bank with ID that the bank has on file (old passport used to open the account and your current passport). if the bank allows, ask them to re-issue a new passbook. you might have to pay a fee. if that doesn't work, tell the bank you want to deposit additional funds into the account but need a new passbook. deposit some money and go back to the bank some time later and close your account and withdraw your balance. I've had no problems in Korea and Singapore when I lost my passbook (years ago before banks stopped issuing passbooks)
