I'm so excited... this is the first time in about 25 years that I've had a garden and I'm already eating from it! I harvested radishes last week, and baby spinach and romaine yesterday! I never really liked radishes, but found a pickled radish recipe that is soooooo tasty I'm going to plant a second batch. The other day I caught my husband with the jar in one hand, a fork in the other, and a guilty look on his face. 😂

I would also love to see a video on how you store everything that you harvest like all the cabbages I think you harvested like five cabbages in one video ...how do you store all that? Do you chop it up and freeze it? Please do a video on that for everything that you harvest I would love to know how you store everything. I agree, that this year gonna be a good harvest. My fruit trees also loaded, more than ever, and the veggies develop nicely too. I have a recommendation, because I didn't see corn in your garden, that try popcorn. It is different than the sweet corn, need special corn. I grow that every year, wait until fully dry on the stem and peel all the seeds off and I pop around with it whole year. That is one of my fav crop!

Kylo Ren of gardeners, you are my hero! Your enthusiasm is infectious and you have come a long way from where you were. Tuck‘s adorable, everything you say about gardening is true (except I have to make my own decisions as far as weather here in Germany. Did you ever lose crops because you, in hindsight, you sowed them too early? That’s quite of a problem over here. It’s a gamble every year. I’d like to see you elaborate and share experiences of failures. Seeing you wipe the dirt from a radish or carrot and then take a bite wins my heart every single time. That’s how we grew up. Oh, I bought those tomato clips and wheels, but my plants aren’t there yet. Too bad I cannot find that trellis system. I like it a lot. I tell everyone who is genuinely interested in gardening (Americans amongst them)to watch your channel to get a good sense for it and to avoid discouraging mistakes. I am also composting and the worms showed up on their own. Buying worms definitely seems a waste of money. I don’t know how, but I swear I have compost worms in my compost pile. They are smaller and thinner and more red in colour than your regular rain worms. When filling my second raised bed, my compost was wet and sticky and so I hosed down the buckets after I was done and discovered that dissolving compost in water makes a good liquid fertiliser and helps you save compost, if you don’t have so much and it gets the nutrients into the soil rather than drying out. Wishing you and tuck all the best and keep up the great job. Much love from Germany 🇩🇪

Thanks for sharing! We grow greens for a long harvest season also. One of our favorites is the tatsoi. Who knew? So good. Our mustards and spinach have already started to bolt. Our bok choy and lettuce are up and ready. Cabbage and broccoli have a little while to go but, beet and turnip greens are ready to go. We leave 3 leaves on each plant. I believe the roots are just starting to form. I love the multi-use, eat-the-whole plant roots. Your fruit videos encouraged me to purchase and plant currants. Keep warm Tuck!

Awwwe Tuck worked so hard he's gotten cold. Where's his little sweater? Put that baby is some clothes until it warms up. He's so precious! Cracks me up the way he chows down on the veggies. Especially the radishes. I don't like them because they taste hot to me. Great video as usual. I'm trying to decide whether to plant this year. The 15th is supposed to be our first day to plant but you live North of me and you already have things growing!! I patio garden and I'm not sure if I have to move before the garden will be finished. Got to decide quickly!! Using 5 gal buckets this year instead of the black bags. They got mildewed last year and I'm afraid of them. I'm going to reuse my soil because I can't afford to start over. I'll clean it and organic fertilize. Just keep it pumped up. Oh well. My fiancee died 5 months ago and I'm kinda stuck mentally.
@Many8s7 ай бұрын
Great to know the specific varieties you've chosen for their short growing times and heat tolerance! The health and vibrance of your plants are a testimonial to your methods. Learning so very much from each video, James. Thanks to Tuck, too, your vigilant assistant ❤ P.S. Beyond the usual fertilizing the last 3 years, I followed your recent must-see "Homemade POTTING MIX..." video recipe for soil+amendments. First I "forked" deep down into the surface [broadfork not available], then mixed up the components on the tarp (hydrated coco coir, then mixed with biochar into the compost to innoculate it, then kelp, worm castings, perlite, and vermiculite). Then this was blended into the top 4-6" [based on Wakefield BioChar instructions] of my existing slightly-raised beds, keeping it wet for 7 days to activate the biochar. This is my 200 sq ft rental plot in the one Seattle's organic garden site previously cultivated in a swampy area by generations of Italian and Asian gardeners, then offered to tenants by the city since 1973. In days 7-9, my heavy dense soil was TRANSFORMED into something much more workable and airy!

Try the "SAXA 2" or "De 18 Jours" radishes, they mature in just 18 days, and they are delicious. I succession plant them - as soon as a planting sprouts, I start another planting, and as soon as they come up I start another planting to provide a constant supply of fresh radishes.
