About the Red Queen, it’s highly possible she was the “Gray Prince” of the scrapped Cheydinhal Arena, and was kind of a celebrity around town. It’s a really similar name convention, and “The Red Queen” could refer to “the queen of blood” which could hint to her skill in battle, and the color of the Raiment of Valor. I remember hearing that one of the Cheydinhal NPCs that had rumors about “being really good with a sword” could potentially have been the Grand Champion, therefore being the Red Queen, but I forgot her name and who she was. She’s probably a trainer? Also, the Black Queen is possibly a mythic animal enemy. Maybe a Bear or a Spriggan? But she could also just have been a nutcase that lived on a cave and called herself that lol. But the chest name suggests she was a boss, so she’s likely a special animal boss. Maybe she had an unique model at some point or she didn’t. But yeah the Black Queen doesn’t seem to have a direct connection to the Red Queen. This is one of my favorite ‘mysteries’ of Oblivion and I learned most of this through Unknown G, even though he didn’t have a concrete answer, it’s pretty easy to speculate some possibilities. The funniest part is that almost all of this got cut to save space. Space that didn't need to be saved, Bethesda just forgot to delete a bunch of unused voice lines. I think at least 1/4 of the disc space is just taken up by unused voice files they forgot to delete

Glad you’re back. The quest were possibly scrapped due to time,bugs,glitches,quality, downsizes. When Oblivion was supposed to be released for consoles they downsized everything. Arenas,quests,etc. There’s a stage where they get to choose to what to keep and it’s implications. It’s very common in the industry however in Bethesda it’s the norm. They experiment quite a lot.

I think it would be utterly hilarious if the reason for the Courier's foresight was that they have an Elder Scrollin their basement, just the thought of the local newspaper posessing one of the Reality Bending Titular Mystical Artefacts just so that they can put out the best stories ASAP would be so funny. But sadly we don't live in that reality.

I literally played that "I gots that ogre DNA" questline on vanilla Oblivion ...like literally on the Xbox 360. Even finished the whole quest too. So I would say that the quest is at least 95% "intact" at minimum

I had some fun with the Red Queen and the Black Queen, fused them as a character for a sort of C0da I dreamed up for my Oblivion character. Always like to delve through the cut content and obscure lore in these games to cook up my own endings

I have a feeling that Sancre Tor would have been part of the Blood of the Daedra questline and not Blood of the Divines, but with the quest cuts, and particularly the quest size cuts, they decided to revamp Sancre Tor for the follow-up quest instead.

Really enjoyed this. I kept getting notices about the Courier quest and nothing happening so thanks for solving that one. It drove me crazy. I got another for you to solve sometime if you can. All I hear from a number of denizens of the Imperial City is about some uneasy truce between two families. Sounded like maybe it was a Hatfields/McCoy type of thing where you brought about said truce maybe and they cut it out and just left the dialog in about a truce in place and that was it? Endless dialog it seems. What do you think or know about that one?
