100% agree with you. As a child I was I always told "don't do that", "this is my house and you do what I tell you to do while you live here", "you are just a kid". Now I have a 7 months baby girl and I will definitely treat her as an equal.

Beautiful. The truth is, parents can show respect to their children without losing their authority. This was my experience with my mother. She was always kind and gracious towards me and I never felt that she was inferior. She built my confidence and I am forever grateful. Thank you for this beautiful video.

The phrase 'I'm not good' at something IS something that we as adults should also not say! I totally agree and think it's a great tip :)

Ysis, thank you for this video! I don't have kids just yet, but I watch all your mindful motherhood videos (and all the others as well) just to get some tips. You are such a good example of a good intentional mother for me. Thank you for the bonus tip especially, because that is definitely something I can and I should and I will (!) work on now, even before having kids. Build my own confidence as a ground I will build on. Thank you for everything! 💛

Won't speaking positive things about one child to another child make them feel like they are being compared?
@YsisLorenna3 жыл бұрын
I doesn’t for us, as we’re never insinuating that the other child should do the same thing. It helps teach them that we can praise and be happy for other people’s achievements without immediately thinking “what about me”. Xx
