Two things about the disappearance of Susan Walsh: 1. The Village Voice ultimately decided not to publish the story about Vampire night clubs. So it's unlikely that the people at the club even knew who she was. 2. At the time of her disappearance, Walsh was also writing an expose on the Russian Mafia.

I met a woman in lower downtown many years ago. It was at a dive pool bar. She sounded Eastern European, had dark hair and pale skin. She was quite shapely. She wore small silver earrings that looked like skulls with red ruby eyes. She told me she was a vampire and that people like her would have human a host that they would feed on consensually. She said she had a black belt in tae kwon do. This may have been a joke or something . Later I met another like her only she was taller, same pale skin. This area was where a lot of Goth types hung out.

In the early 1900's for about 2-3 decades, there was roughly 1 vampire attack in the USA each week reported in the newpapers. You can find the reports in old copies of local papers, and the book I had showed copies of the articles.

There are so many claims and sightings of supposedly undead Vampires and other supernatural creatures that the world is seeing an ever increasing belief in the supernatural etc, Vampires have never been more popular as a subject. I believe vampires, as in, people who crave the blood of others do exist and may be more commonplace than we know (possibly due to a combination of psychological issues and a lack of the mineral ingredients in their blood increasing the need for balance in the body) however, I'd imagine that undead creatures who fear the light and turn others into vampires as if spreading some disease, if they exist at all, are few and far between, I'd imagine that, if they had to follow the classical rules of vampirism it would be harder for them to get around than we realise, attacking only in more isolated, rural areas due to their many, many weaknesses (sunlight, silver, crosses, garlic, needing to be invited in etc.), I'd imagine they'd be the more cautious scavenger-types, like hyenas or vultures, still dangerous, but more likely to go after weaker, more isolated prey

Do people who believe in vampires and such, on the average, believe in the Gods?
@trinomial-nomenclature4 жыл бұрын
That's a really good question. I'm not too sure about vampires, but ghosts/spirits I do believe in, as I have had my own experiences with and I was raised Catholic (went to church every week, went to Sunday school, did my first communion and confirmation). However, as I got older and became more interested in science, I found my beliefs clashing with what I believed to be scientifically true (creation vs evolution). As I got more and more interested in science, I grew further away from the church and their teachings and subsequently my belief in God. I stopped attending church when I was around 14 and I now consider myself an Atheist (since my mid 20's). I'm not sure if this answers your question, however, I do know there are a lot of people who believe in ghosts/spirits and believe in God as well, they use the prayer of God and Holy Water to banish ghosts/spirits sometimes. I'm probably going to get some spiteful comments. However I am *not* saying that people of Religion *cannot* have a career or an interest in science, of course they can, I was merely stating that *I* couldn't find a balance between the two, also there were some other factors that played a part in why I became an Atheist.
@hellsheathen2144 жыл бұрын
@@trinomial-nomenclature : I myself understand what your saying. Not only did science conflict with my faith but I was born and raised Baptist and was faithful for 33 years, hit a ruff place, went into depression and "God" wasn't there and scripture and my faith failed. Either I was born predestined for Hell or God doesn't exist.
@trinomial-nomenclature4 жыл бұрын
@@hellsheathen214 I completely understand! There are a few instances in my life where I said "why would God do this? Why would he let me suffer like this?" and I know it says "God only gives you what you can handle", but when I had a nervous breakdown I thought "ok.... Isn't *this* a little too much to handle God, obviously I cannot handle this much, why would you do this to me? And let me suffer from this for years and years and years?". Yeah, at that point my faith started to waiver and I too felt that God "wasn't there" when I truly needed him.
@hellsheathen2144 жыл бұрын
@@trinomial-nomenclature :Sounds like we were in the same place. I'm sorry you had to endure that and lost something in the process. I myself went through a whole other bad journey when I lost faith and "God". I had to find another reason for purpose. And it turns out I am a good and moral man without scripture and can be just as happy living for me without repentance for simply being born.
@trinomial-nomenclature4 жыл бұрын
@@hellsheathen214 Awe, same here, I'm so sorry you had to go through what you did and all the while expecting God to be there for you, only to find out in the middle of it all, he wasn't. It's like dealing with two issues at once all of a sudden. I too, have found that I have a really good moral compass without the need of God, they teach you (well at least I was taught) that unless you're with God, you won't be able to tell right from wrong and people who are not part of a religion, have a skewed moral compass...... well, sorry, but I do know right from wrong. My best friend is a Mormon and we both have sons the same age and the "lessons" (about life and right and wrong and how to function as an individual) we teach our child are pretty much identical and we don't really discuss how we "teach" our child in those areas that often, so it's not like we're influencing one another. We are just both parents of young boys, who happen to have a very similar moral compass, my point is that I don't think being part of any religion, makes you any more moral than non-religious people.
