Exactly what I’ve realised whilst watching this. Not calling out these homeowners because I’m in just as big a mess. Too much stuff, too little space. Unable to make decisions. And my overwhelming feeling is shock at how much money was spent on stuff in that apartment (again, I’m not pointing fingers, I’m just as guilty).

I’m so happy to hear “decluttering takes at least 3-4 passings!” Everyone believes “decluttering is like the home edit or a HGTV.” When I help family and friends downsize/decluttering their spaces, they realize the work it takes. I believe once you know what you have and what you need; then you’re able to maintain your home. Mahalo nui , April for another amazing series! I’m looking forward to your new channel. It's commonly said, but you really made it click for me and the fact that I don't start bc I'm a perfectionist so think I have to be "ready" to make it perfect the 1st time, which causes me to hesitate... Now that I know there's no shame in making a few passes, I guess there's no reason not to start.

Thank you for this great series, April and the clients! :) I liked that this time it was a couple of working professionals, not someone who has a lot of work-related items at home (like influencers) or someone who's downsizing for retirement. Amazing job, April! The couple must be feeling so much better living in their space now. Although there might be still some decluttering to do, you helped them bring it to a manageable level - less intimidating and overwhelming. i love how she is very responsible with recycling and understand how those things take up space until you can take them out. i wish them both all the best and a very happy life! This has to be one of my favourite videos of yours! The end result is so good, and to think it was done in just 5 days! I love how respectful you are about her stuff and letting her decide what to keep and what not to keep. It's so easy to judge from the outside without having the memories related to these things. And it's really nice to see how much she cares about the environment. It can be so overwhelming to get rid of something in a responsible way that sometimes it's just easier to not take it out. I wish you a stress-free move and am looking forward to videos on your new channel.

I’ve actually been subscribed to your and Carla’s channels for a long time and thought about how you both would probably get along, because for me personally, I think you both exude relaxing decluttering/organizing vibes-but it turns out you already know of each other 😂👍🏼 Secondly, loved watching this series! I feel like a LOT was done in such a short amount of time. I really like the impact the negative space created in the center of the room; it feels like the space is larger. I hope the homeowners decide to live with the way it is for now before getting a dining table and chairs that would possibly affect that. 🙂🌟

I love your videos. They are realistic and help so much with how to declutter and make things look so much better. Having the storage area zoned is fantastic. One thing I might have tried in the living room is using the folding mirror to hide the clutter right inside the door. Put the items back on the apartment side of the cabinet and position the mirror to hide it. The mirror would also reflect the view from outside. Of course I’m just seeing the space on tv so I really don’t have a good idea of how much room there really is to see if this would work. Looking forward to your next videos. Safe travels!

So excited to see the finale today! It was the first channel I checked this morning. I just love your format and the way you talk the homeowner and yourself through various stages. I would have loved a little interview with the homeowner at the end to see how she felt, how her husband felt. They could stay off camera and maybe keep it to a minute and a half. I just know how hard you and they worked and I would have loved some finishing thoughts from them...but hey I get it...it is really none of our business and there is their privacy to consider. The friend with the poses was a hoot. Good luck with your move and just take care of your little family for a couple of weeks and we will see you very soon. Great series! Amazing job! I felt like the place could get a big full breath of air in the last shot of the lounge. And the downstairs store room - just having like with like is a huge huge task done. You could see at first how they'd had to move fast and any old thing went into boxes together without rhyme or reason - sorting and organising into general lots of things is a massive first step.

Wow this was so satisfying!! I can’t believe you all managed to do this for 5 days in a row! Physically and emotionally it’s such a big deal! I know you said that they will need to do future passes to refine it further, but I think that will be so much easier now it’s all sorted in to big categories. Even if they did one category a month, it could all be done in less than a year, and in the mean time it’s so much more functional and calm to live in every day! Good job everyone!!

Nordstrom also has a cosmetics recycling program! you have to check your location to see if they are participating, but definitely cheaper than shipping the terracycle box. I’ve seen a lot of comments that there is too much stuff. That’s easier to evaluate when you are on the outside looking in. As an owner of too much stuff, it becomes easier to get rid of the unneeded if you do some rough sorting first. I suspect that this is really a beginning for this couple and given a couple years that storage closet is going to have a lot less

I suspect that even from the “inside” they understand they have too many things for the space that they were living in. I’ve spent time living that way too, and it was very frustrating. Even if you can’t hold onto everything you want it feels much better to have your belongings within easy reach and able to be used without having to play Tetris in the cabinets or dig through boxes trying to find something. I’m impressed with how well the quantity of things they did have were able to be organized. For example, April made really good use of the bathroom built-in storage spaces.

What a triumph! I hope they continue on with a new mind set! I'm just curious...after the closet was finished, was the owner surprised to find that he had many multiples of the same jackets etc? Did he want all of them or not even know what he had? Either way it looks fantastic.

I was very confused and interested to hear about why they had so many duplicates of items. From my experience it usually is because a person can't find the item and repurchases it but I won't assume.:)

Oh I think you nailed it! When you aren't organized and haven't decluttered in a while things go missing and then you buy doubles and triples and then it gets to be overwhelming.
