5 Day Itinerary in Australia’s South West | Albany & Denmark | Perth Life

Wow, to say I was blown away by this region is an understatement. Can’t wait to come back here again soon!
Day 1:
- Blowholes in Torndirrup National Park, Albany (check the signs to see if they’ll be blowing! It’s a 1mile walk each way from the car park, we heard they weren’t blowing so didn’t go the whole way)
- Bald Head Trail Walk: a 13km return walk along the Flinders Peninsula with the most breathtaking views. It took us approximately 4.5 hours (including a stop for lunch and a couple of short drone film breaks!). Challenging and tiring in places but definitely manageable and extremely rewarding. Take plenty of water and snacks and I’d recommend walking boots!
- Misery beach: Australia’s Best Beach 2022, bring bathers so you can cool off here!
- The Gap & Natural Bridge in Torndirrup National Park
- Gull Rock for sunset (with fish and chips - and yep they did stay hot enough in our cool box!)
Stay: Albany town centre
Eat: Ocean & Paddock fish and chips
Day 2: Denmark! 40ish minute drive from Albany
- mooch around the cute shops in Denmark
- Elephant Rocks & Greens Pool - spent a couple of hours here reading, swimming, chilling.
- The Dam (brewery/distillery) for lunch
- Forest Hill winery for a wine tasting
Stay: Albany town centre
Eat: Due South, Albany
Day 3: camping!
- Check out Dog Rock
- Drive east to find a camp spot - we ended up at East Bay Camp Area
- Walk along Two Peoples Bay & dip between the rocks at the end
Day 4: camping
- read, walk, fish, chill, whatever you like! We stayed put at East Bay and walked along Two Peoples Bay again and did some more swimming
Stay: we stayed at East Bay Camp Area by Two Peoples Bay
try Waychinicup Inlet Camping Area (get there early, ensure your car can handle a 6km unsealed road to get there)
Try Normans beach (5 spots, full of grey nomads when we tried!)
Day 5: pack up and head back!

Wow, Two People Bay looked amazing! Aside from the natural beauty, I think the town of Albany is gorgeous with lots of charm. I haven't been to Denmark for years but I must get back down there. Looks like it has changed a lot. Thanks for sharing, Cat. 😍

Hi there you 2 lovely English roses. Enjoyed all your videos. Hey, when you went to Margaret River, did you go to Hamelin Bay? Think you would love it and there is a caravan park, villas and camping ground to choose from if you want to stay there? A little further south is a place called Cosy Corner. It has a lovely secluded beach (but it's a little difficult to find). Best wishes for your upcoming wedding. David & Diana

Yes we did! Just for a day trip, absolutely loved it. Would love to go back and camp in Margaret River now we have all the kit!
