I agree with the tick prevention. I take garlic every day. Ticks and mosquitos don’t like it. I don’t take so much that my breath and sweat stinks. Had to experiment to get the correct amount. 😊

You remind me so much of my days growing up in the mountains. Swam in the streams near our property. Caught fish for meals in the morning. Climbed trees, 80-100’ tall, and hiking in the mountains that I lived on. Good memories. Thank you for this. 😁

If you were to start putting the ferns at the bottom of the shelter and work towards the top, it would be more rain proof. 😊 Nice thing about those ferns, also called sword ferns or bracken ferns, is that they will grow back quickly. When they are first coming up they can be picked, steamed, and eaten. 😊 This is when they are about 3-4” tall with the first coil forming.
