As a native Texan camping in 110⁰F (43⁰C) is a chore but I swear by a wide brimmed hat, a sniper veil (you wet it and it can act like a swamp cooler when draped over you) and resting at peak hours 2pm-6pm. Hiking in the dark sucks but it's better than heat stroke. Great video!

I'm a Texan and I'm used to doing short hikes in 40°C, but, I also hike with a shemagh around my head, a hiking umbrella, and I carry a small 2 x 1.5 m tarp to rig as a sun shelter.

And we'll thanks to you really, won the competition. One of you're previous videos where you mentioned you were taking part had me looking into it and seeing what it was about more. So I entered the competition and have luckily won. Based up in the highlands so not far of a drive from here...but can't wait to take part with like minded people who love the outdoors and what it has to offer. Heat is so dangerous. Almost lost my husband to severe heatstroke in 2019. He was in a medically induced coma in ICU for two days because they couldn't get his temperature down. Made a miracle recovery, with no long lasting effects thankfully. Watching you just carrying on hiking in the heat was a bit stressful, but good of you that you recognised in time that you were about to cross your own limits. Having the experience of someone I love getting a severe heatstroke made me very careful about getting out to hike in 25-30deg Celcius plus weather, especially in high humidity. I was in southern France last week, with temperatures of 38+ deg Celcius, and only did a couple of strolls around shaded areas and towns. Too hot to do anything else. And I'm in the Alps now, planning on doing a day hike on the first stretch of the Tour Du Mont Blanc. It's going to be about 26 degrees at midday (lots cooler than the past few weeks, thankfully), so I'm taking hydration stuff, at least 2.5 litres of water, and my water filter. Starting out at 7am. Wish me luck! :) Anyway, great video. Carry on. 😊

I only got diagnosed with ADHD last year (at 28) and since then I've realised that pretty much everyone I follow on youtube has it too. Not in the least bit surprised to hear you're one of them - your mental health chats have always really resonated with me. It's nice to hear you talk about it though; I basically only got diagnosed because I was watching so many channels by ADHDers that youtube straight-up starting reccomending videos about ADHD to me and I looked into it XD. I think it's really helpful to break down the misconceptions and make it more relatable to people who never got diagnosed in childhood. Since I moved to Scotland I've become totally obsessed with hiking and wild camping and a good chunk of that is from watching your videos in lockdown, so cheers. Being outdoors really is the best therapy. Wainright knew it and I'd put money on him having had it too. Much love

So what date where you on the Cleveland Way mate ? I was on coastal section last week from Filey to Saltburn .Quite hot , nothing too hot with the calmest sea I ve ever seen on the Coast Path .Very high pressure .The high pressure flattens out the waves and it was an absolute mill pond .. .my dates were Auguts 12 th to 14 th .Met Tim Norton another KZbinr just starting the coast section .Question, do you think the coast section is as hard as the moorland section ? .I ve done it and think maybe the coast is more gruelling and why is the Cleveland Way under walked ? I always start from Filey and only met 4 people coming the other way
