I think my main recomendation for people who want to decorate is to unlock the forgotten lands, and focus on Kristofer. -the forgotten lands give you access to pumpkins, after you’ve made a bit of money making the suffles, or other methods, invest in 200 pumpkins and you’ll have around 300k every time you harvest (I do it once a day but can be done every 4 hrs) -Kristoff gives you access to LOTS of mats that change every single day so you don’t always have to spend hours farming for mats to craft your goodies -Scrooges catalogue is a funny one, you can order items you’ve crafted from him or anything you’ve previously bought from him AS LONG AS it’s in your inventory (I.e the gazebo that took me days to craft cause of the dry wood can be ordered once you have it in your inventory) so make sure you’re not spending valuable resources crafting multiples of things when you can order them Hope this helps someone 💗

I wish it was a little easier to decorate on the Switch. It's great for moving distances but not so much for small micro movements when trying to line things up. No matter what game you play, your decorating is AMAZING! Thank you for the tips. I did move all my trees and bushes into an orchard so gathering fruit is easier.

I believe you can use touch screen controls on switch when decorating. (i”m on Xbox so only passing on what I read elsewhere, hope it helps).

@@penglingwhisperer3382 You can for certain things, but in my opinion using the touch screen isn’t ideal, and it’s also difficult to utilize precisely without accidentally doing/clicking on the wrong thing, accidentally rotating an object or accidentally placing an object prematurely. I really wish they would give console players the ability to adjust the sensitivity of the cursor/selection movement/precision, rather than the way it currently is with you only being able to adjust the sensitivity of the camera. I’m really not sure why they thought the camera sensitivity level was the only necessary sensitivity adjustment for joysticks. Adjusting the sensitivity of the camera is great and is helpful, but the sensitivity of the selection tool is something they desperately need to work on.

Honestly. I want to decorate and organise my valley however I want to, but I'm afraid of it making the game crash even more for me if I tried - it's also been very laggy lately and I don't know why, I wonder if particle effects have anything to do with it (since it seems to be the worst in forest of valor, where I have plenty of the original foliage left and I have a lot of farming plots for canola (at least 300)). Weirdly enough, my switch got worse with the crashing over time (first week since release was perfectly fine, then days leading up to the patch update it was pretty horrible. It was fine for a few days after the patch update, but has started acting up again.) It's a shame, I really enjoy playing the game but it can be pretty frustrating when it crashes every few to 10 minutes.

Your valley looks great so far! I haven’t decorated.. only moved a few things (mainly fruit trees and bushes for harvesting) because the controls on the Switch are super frustrating and over sensitive. It appears way easier on the PC. Hoping they’ll make some adjustments down the line. Regarding the soufflés, you only net $400 for each one so farming is really where it’s at. (Especially if you don’t have Remy/cooking unlocked)I started with carrots and now I’m on canola. I have a plot of only about 240 spots and get about $55k+ when I sell them. (That’s every 30 mins) When I progress far enough it’ll be pumpkins. I do love this game so far and look forward to what else they add.

Thank you for this! I have been fishing mostly with a buddy so double the fish catches and it gives you lots of money but I think I'll make my farming area a bit bigger too.

@@MrsGrendalFaust :) I feel like I level up friendship faster this way too, but it could just seem that way since I plant, water, & harvest a lot fairly quickly. 🙃 with a friend you’ll get almost twice as many crops too (if they stay out of the way when you get the bonus grabs) I’m wondering tho if this is what causes more of my crashes. I’m starting to think it doesn’t like the really large farms. 🤣 Even after the update I’m having issues

An immovable plaza. Why does that sound familiar? Ha, just kidding. The plaza in Dreamlight Valley is always in the center, so it makes everything feel symmetrical and nice, so I don't mind that.

I wish we were able to move the ponds though. While I like them I have moved my shopping district to the meadow because I wanted to place the shops/restaurants near goofy’s stall. I also moved mine and Merlin’s home to the forest. I also hope that we can eventually do more changes to our houses designs. I really want to change the exterior and my doors because while we have doors as a decoration they don’t seem able to replace the default doors when I tried

You can purchase different exteriors for your house in the shop with moonstones, but they can't be applied until your house is fully upgraded. For example they have Prince Eric's ship as an exterior available right now.

will admit the moment i open an area up i clear anything that isnt functional just to make moving around easier, i can always make things look nice and pretty after afterwards. this might be a good idea for some people as it allows you to see more things on the ground as some of the journal pages you have to find can be difficult to see at times.

I moved my house to the Savannah since people don't seem to wander there (and Lion King is my favorite). I also took every fruit tree and bush (sans the beach trees) and made an orchard/garden in the main valley. They still grow at the same speed so you can get fast friendship on top of being super lazy daily.)

I placed my house in the forest because when you plant crops in the biome they're sold in they grow faster, and if my farm is right outside my house I can just run in and out to refill my stamina. Canola's sold in the forest and it's one of the most profitable crops, though a little more labour intensive as it needs to be watered a few times - if you want something you can leave for longer then pumpkins are better which come from the Forgotten Lands. I still plant my pumpkins in the forest though. Forgotten Lands has a lot of green fires that we can't remove yet so it's a pain to farm in. Another good thing about the forest is that you get iron ore from the mining spots and you need A LOT of iron ore for the quests, so any time you can do a quick run around to pick some up is worth it. Also, remember to check the recipes in the crafting table for more furniture items, paths and fences.

Been loving designing in this game so far ! Great video and I have another couple of tips to add to it in case you didn’t know. You can actually order crafted items from Scrooge which is amazing because then you don’t need to grind for all the crafting materials. I think you have to have one of that crafted item in your inventory to be able to order it so in theory you only have to make it once. There is a cap of 25 items that you can order unfortunately. Also I was wondering where to get new crafting recipes and I did Prince Eric’s quest line. If you do all his quests he’ll have two recipes for sale per day so it’s worth doing ! 😊

I don't know if you have tried this already (if so sorry), But if you craft some extra storage boxes and save flowers in them this allows them to keep respawning in their biomes until you have enough for your decorations. But I agree, being able to buy flower seeds would be fun! I hope maybe it's something they can do in the future.

The only thing I'm sad about moving buildings is Goofy's stalls have to stay in their biome. I can't just set them up in a little shopping line in the Plaza.

Same, but you can craft a stall and you can add in various items like food onto the stall for decoration.

You are correct however before you move any building make sure all quests are complete. Because if you move your home for instance prior to completing Moana’s last quest you won’t be able to complete it. If you move Remus restaurant you won’t complete Moana’s Quest searching for Pua. So you are wrong in regards to moving things when you feel like it. So make sure you are done with all quests. There is a lot of quests that the village has to stay as it is.

Will suggest gardening over cooking for money. Can get money faster while also leveling up characters and being able to do other things by gardening vs standing there cooking. Canola in the Forest of Valor for fast money and - though they take longer to grow - Pumpkins in the Forgotten Lands need less management so you can play the game while your money grows. Make sure to bring a gardening buddy when harvesting for those extra item spawns.

Lobster Rolls are underrated. I’ve seen more return on them personally since you only have to buy butter. Bring your fishing buddy and catch a bunch of lobster. I sold 3 and made up my money for the butter i bought for 30 of them. JS

On the controller it's not as easy to bulk move/remove paths. I have trouble coordinating my fingers properly, so it's much easier for me to go one by one, though it's more tedious.

Design tip for a future video, you can place furniture on dirt holes to remove them. Just have to save, then remove the furniture

You don't have to save and then remove. You can just place them there and then get rid of them and theyll go away. But honestly you can just get rid of the dirt holes by digging with the shovel on the exact same spot. Makes them go away.

@@faerlywell Once you get to the 200 clay quest, it would double your time having to close all the holes manually. And by save, I meant close the furniture menu with the item there. If you remove the item then close the menu, it wont work.

Why would you have farms in the plaza, it's the only area in the game that doesn't give crop boosts... Look at goofies stall, if he sells seeds, the earth gives a bonus, so you want to grow carrots in peaceful meadow, tomatoes on the beach, those casomething high value crop in the forest and so on and so fort. So you want a farm area with the teleporter and that areas goofy stall in easy reach in every single zone, EXCEPT the plaza that has no crop it boost.

It could be, but FYI duplicated items don't increase the build count (as far as I can tell) so you can add a ton of items as long as they are the same. At least on PC it seems like each biome can have around 600 unique items with countless copies each so not bad, but I haven't fully tested this. This makes sense because the computer really only needs to render the item once its just showing it in multiple locations.

Bouillabaisse is worth almost 1,500 coins. Recipe is a shrimp, a tomato, and a carrot. Put in 3 shrimp to make it worth almost 1,500 coins.

They won't respawn where you have placed an item but they randomly spawn in the biome so they will just respawn somewhere else randomly, if its an empty spot. Interestingly you can manually move flowers as well if you have somewhere you want the wild flowers to be. But the spawn location of items isn't set to a particular spot so feel free to use any location, only mineable rocks are set and you can't move them anyways so it doesn't matter.

I regrete buying the game for switch because of the world decoration, it's so hard to move the "hand" while decorating because it's too sensitive. It's enfuriating sometimes haahah You spend ages trying to pick up a single bush because it moves too fast.
