My #1 has to be my light pad, followed closely by my PaddyWaxx; both types. I have a medium and a large hand held row straighteners that I use to start my first rows up against, that otherwise; the rows would be all wonky. Then use them about every 5 rows or so to straighten up the drills to make it look better. Other than that, I have a table that the top flips up or down that I keep all my extra accessories on; so that my work space is just my easel, diamond painting and light board. I don't like to feel all crammed in with stuff in my work area. Loved your video.

I had some smaller pop open containers that don't always stay closed so this was huge because I have curious kitties that like to "help" me diamond paint.

I love it! I think I need to get some of the multi-slotted trays next. Do you have a favorite source for your big boats? I haven't found one yet that is as smooth on the bottom as I would like. The drills sort of get stuck on some 3D printed trays I've used and don't slide well.

Tiny Worlds of Wonder I agree with you on the boats. My3ddesigns is hit or miss in my experience of getting three trays and only one has worked for me so I'm done there. My problem is the drills not shaking well with too many pooling in the bottom or side. That's the problem I've had with Archer Arts. My3ddesigns isn't smooth enough. I'm new to diamond painting and am wondering about the size of the light pad. If I'm doing a larger (11x14) painting, is it much easier to have the A3 light pad as opposed to the A4 (which is much less expensive), or is it easy enough to move the larger canvas around on the smaller light pad?

Excellent question! I have been making do with the A4 for years, but if I had it to do over again and I had the funds available, the larger one would definitely be easier to work with. I can move my canvas around, but I sometimes have to get quite creative with binder clips to make that work! :)

Hi, Trystan! I love the three bump because too many ridges drive me a little nutty, and I feel like it fits my short-but-meaty hands pretty well. LOL! If you're going for one multi-placer tip and you're a new diamond painter, the 3 placer is the easiest and most versatile to master. @@wintrykiss Or a chair that can go lower. I have started using an easel similar to the one in the video and it definitely helps except when I need to work near the top or middle - then I need a taller chair. I also love the Paddywaxx and was just able to order SSPW today for the first time. I'm looking forward to it arriving.

@@wintrykiss Oh dear! Then a higher table might be the better option. Have you looked into one of those sit/stand adjustable tables? That would give you the most options with your easel. I hope that you are able to find something that helps you be comfortable and be able to enjoy diamond painting for longer.

Nancy Yeager Oh no!!! I’m sorry! I have heard of people putting patches on the back side or using a low-heat iron-on interfacing from the back. I would say duct tape, but I don’t know how that would hold up over time. 😢

One more thing I forgot to mention. Get yourselves an basic office hydraulic chair-nothing fancy-one that is easy to adjust the height up and down as you are sitting working . Working on an easel, as you get to the bottom of the canvas, lower the chair so you don’t have to bend over the work so much. Your neck, back and shoulders will thank you! Go to an office supply store and try some out-don’t just buy online without knowing if it is comfortable for you.

@@tinyworldsofwonder oh boy im confused i thought you are Robyn that makes the paddywaxx haha i finally got some SSPW and i love it omg i can barely get the drills off but i saw someone on YT said put it down and pull it to the top right corner off the pen and that works great !!
@darkgirl83 Жыл бұрын
thank you! Would you suggest anything similar to Paddywaxx? I'm from Italy and the shipping fees are much more expensive than the wax itself (I don't want to make a big purchase right now since I don't know the product and if I will use it in the future). At the moment I use Patafix, which should be similar to the BluTak someone talked about in the comments, just from another brand that's easier to find here in Italy, and I like it much more than the hideous pink wax from the kit :D I bought two A3 lightpads (one for me and one for my mother, who's addicted to DP too!) from a chain store called Action here in Italy, they are cheap (20€ each) and work wonderfully! About trays: I am in love with a very simple white medium one that came with a kit. I have a larger one but I find it difficult to align the drills into rows with it. I bought another tray, but purple-colored because I hate using the white one when I work with white drills, I can't see them and it's so frustrating... I have to experiment with pens as well. I bought a LED one from Aliexpress and I HATED it, I found it totally useless since it doesn't light the exact point but just the whereabouts. The lightpad is so much better for me. I prefer a cheap acrylic pen, from Aliexpress as well, that I use with the stainless steel placer and multiplacer (I love the 5 one, it's a good compromise between the 3 and the bigger ones). I also use the tiny pens from the kits, but with the soft foamy cap that make them much more comfortable.

A great list of tools! I have heard great things about the putty from Randa's Crafty Corner on Etsy, but I don't know if she ships to Europe or how much it would cost. It might be worth checking? I have also heard of people using a product called "Quake Hold" putty or the adhesive dots used in paper crafting, but I haven't tried either myself. Blu tack is the next best thing in my experience! :) (I wonder if it would be possible to scent it yourself?)
