I find this all a bit confusing now as a number of high profile Carnivore proponents (low carb) have shown to have very low Free testosterone available. I tried it for about 6 months & my sex drive tanked as did my energy. I also now see that some of these proponents are now adding back in some carbs in the form of honey or sweet potato etc. However this is something you recommend to avoid. No wonder we're all confused about nutrition !

This is was awesome Dr. Berry. I suspected that my vegetarian diet of 19 years contributed to my then low T issues. I switched to a Keto lifestyle in June and not long afterwards experienced a noticeable difference. Sadly, not one medical doctor gave me useful guidance by telling me that perhaps I was sabotaging my health with my dietary lifestyle. Thanks for the confirmation. 😀

And because of side effects I had to stop. Psoriasis came back worse than EVER BEFORE!!! Places I never had it before. My elbows went from a dime sized spot to a softball sized spot. Never had it on my legs before. Just a small tiny spot on both knees. After Humaira my legs looked like I had chicken pox or poison ivy. Now the patches are changing into my skin color & slowly going away. My skin is soft & smooth. Please Don't give up. My dermatologist said psoriasis on the hands is the hardest to clear up. Well, my fingertips now are getting clear in spots. I look @ my hands & you can see it's healing. Please stick w it. Sending my thoughts and prayers for you!!! God Bless & I'm so grateful for the Doc's info. I'm sure you understand how self conscious I am about my hands & elbows. My whole life I've been looked at a weird way because of psoriasis. Been nice if you'd have listed the 5. I'm not exactly sure I've got 'em, but here is my recap and helpful cliff notes for those who don't want to listen to the entire presentation: 1. No grains or soy 2. Eat high fat / do not eat "low fat" or "no fat" foods 3. Fast 18 to 22 hours or even up to 3 days. ( as a natural healthcare practitioner, I caution you to do a fast this long under supervision. I personally went into a semi-coma at the end of the 1st day on a juice fast about 18 years ago when I had no idea what I was doing. I can't do water fasts either) so, his point is, do not snack and/or eat all day long. Eat once and wait as long as you can before your next meal......like 8, 12, 18 or even 22 hours. 4. No sugar or sweets, not even honey or agave. 5. Nothing from plastics. When they are stored and/or cooked in ANY kind if plastic that you heat or gets hot (water in plastic bottles gets exposed to REALLY HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL heat in transpiration and the food or liquid in these containers absorb zenoestrogens.... the BAD estrogens related to cancer, excess abnormal body fat, diabetes, insulin resistance and low testosterone. Did I get everything correct?

Just do the following (it automatically includes all 5 as well) : Stop eating so much, and so often. More specifically, start training yourself with intermittent fasting, initially 12 : 12. then 16 : 8 (= 16 h no eating) until you get to OMAD (one meal a day). Wen you eat, eat 100 gram meat & 400 grams cruciferous vegetables (raw weight). Once you're there, start doing 2 day fasts - i.e just skip that one daily meal (just drink water with electrolytes (himalayan salts & potasium powder) to avoid fatigue) - you won't believe how that will reset your whole hormonal system, including testosterone. I'm in my fifties, was overweight when I started doing it, and I can absolutely testify to this - in fact, I was shocked at the extent my T count increased (I noticed it before I even got it tested).

Concerning point 5: I live in Thailand and have long wondered why there are so many transgender women, gays and generally very feminine men here. My theory is that plastics play a significant role. They really like to put hot food in plastic bags. It's plastic galore over here. Hot soups and hot soy milk (double whammy) are widely consumed and a lot of it was put into non-food grade plastic bags. I can't prove it but I strongly suspect there is a connection. I keep telling people not to eat hot food that came into contact with plastics but few are listening. Meanwhile I'm 43 and still have great muscle tone.
@jejunamja
@jejunamja 5 жыл бұрын
You know that's interesting I've lived in Laos and also northern Thailand for 10 years and I've wondered the same thing and so could it actually be environmental from the plastic... cuz yeah you go to the night market to get food and it's all those thin plastic bags hot soup, vegetables , everything it comes in those thin plastic bags.
@Axiomatic75
@Axiomatic75 5 жыл бұрын
@@jejunamja I've thought about this phenomenon for years now (been living in Chiang Mai for over 10 years now) and no other explanation really makes sense. I've heard people argue that it's because Thai culture is more accepting towards gays/transsexuals and it may play a small role but I don't think it explains the huge numbers of them. I don't really think it's a genetic thing either. I tried to do some research about how many transgender women there were in Thailand before they started putting hot food into plastic bags but I couldn't find any data.
@jejunamja
@jejunamja 5 жыл бұрын
@@Axiomatic75 I've been told the exact same thing that the Thai culture is accepting of it but that doesn't change why it's in such a larger % of people then you would find in other countries. That would be interesting if somehow you could do a study before plastic became so widely used in Thailand.On another note I'm going to have to stop getting my food in those thing plastic bags.
@Axiomatic75
@Axiomatic75 5 жыл бұрын
@@jejunamja You should really stop buying takeaway food. They all use plastic and the estrogen mimicking chemicals can really mess up your hormonal system. I stopped it a few years ago. Just eat your food right there. I very rarely eat street food these days anyway. They all use cheap vegetable oils and generally low quality ingredients. I try my best to eat clean food, that means I cook most of my meals myself. It's the only way to know for sure what went in it. I've become a fairly good cook in the process and really enjoy it. It is time consuming though.
@jejunamja

Axiomatic75 ... Yeah you are very right much better to cook your own food . I don’t eat much/ any fired food , but I will have to cut out any of the food that comes in any kind of plastic containers...difficult when your with Thai friends.

Lately I've been feeling like crap have erectile disfunction and have about 10 to 20 hot flashes a day for the past 6 months. Doctors do blood work and tell me all is good. I don't know if they are checking my T levels. Been having a hard time working because of this. Doctors seem to just blow me off about it, cause hot flashes are for women. What about polypropylene and polyethylene? These plastics contain no estrogen like or estrogen mimicking chemicals. Estrogen requires molecular structures (carbon rings and benzene like structures) that cannot be spontaneously created from either of those polymers. Certainly not at 100 degrees C or less. Polystyrene and PEP, yeah I can see that. But not the stuff Tupperware or Rubbermaid are made of. Not a chance.

Something VERY important for testosterone not mentioned here is porn and masturbation. These things especially when done frequently lower testosterone and androgen receptors making it easier to gain weight and therefore lowering testosterone even more. I encourage people to give up these things for 3 months and see for yourself. Remarkable difference. Get lean. having excess fat will cause you to produce more estrogen which is not good for t production.

I hope this gets seen and responded to. Regarding plastics and LCHF- a method of cooking meat that is gaining in popularity is to Suvie the meat. The meat is placed in either plastic vacuum bags or zip lock bags then immersed in a hot water bath where the Suvie device maintains the water temperature constant at what ever setting you desire (usually around 130 to 160 deg F ) for anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days. From what you said about plastics this method of cooking meat could thoroughly poison it.

In viewing the video some things come to mind. I'm 63 years old I drink skim milk I eat oatmeal, bread, spaghetti I do take what may be in a plastic plate for a frozen dinner and put it on a regular plate and heat it in the microwave (I've been doing this for quite some time) I will not lie...I LOVE sugar...in soda, coffee, etc. Fast food junkie. I'm also diabetic but last A1C was 5.8 in June Last T test in March of this year...539. Just a few points off the half way range. I definitely need to rearrange my diet. I eat chicken, beef and pork. Suggestions and comments please...but be civil.

02chevyguy what are you willing to do to become healthy and stay that way? Stopping all sugar consumption will be painful but for only 2 weeks or so. So many people have been where you are and have gotten out of their nutrition rut and have succeeded-for years. It’s worth the effort. I promise.

his “grains” recommendation is dubious at best. Whole grains are good for your health and keeping you full longer, which in turn can help with fasting and can help you lose visceral fat, which is one of the most important factors (by avoiding snacking etc.).

Probably because there is nothing you can do to raise your testosterone level high enough for long enough to make a tangible difference in the large majority of men. A 100 point jump for example which is quite a bit is unlikely to help much unless you are extremely low to begin with.

@@Metarig There is nothing wrong with attempting to boost it naturally. However I am just saying it is unlikely to make much of a difference in most men except maybe a placebo effect unless possibly you are well below normal values to begin with in which case you probably should seek professional medical advice.

I believe metal cans (aluminum/tin/etc) also have an interior coating of plastic to keep the metal from oxidizing and improve sealing. Does anyone know if this plastic also leeches into the contents of the cans? That would make it seem practically impossible to drink anything but faucet water and glass bottled beverages.

Some water filters can. The kind that boil the water then go through a carbon filter. Also, you can run your water for a few seconds in summer to get rid of the warm water in the pipes and get to the cold stuff. I use this water in the garden.

To generally actually make a tangible difference, most men are not going to notice anything off of a small change even if everything works perfectly. 99% of all the men that look amazing selling testosterone boosting supplements, methods etc are using testosterone injections. That's reality. That and they usually have good genetics to begin with. They even have studies showing that small changes in testosterone levels did absolutely nothing for muscle growth and they had to increase the testosterone levels to supraphysiological levels to actually cause additional muscle growth by additional testosterone alone.

Beer is the only healthy product that can be made from grain. Like in fermented foods, the fermentation process makes the grain far healthier, the yeast convert simple sugars to alcohol, and leave the complex carbs. Also, hops are an amazing plant, closest relative of cannabis. Amazing polyphenols and many other compounds. Two beers a day, at dinner or golf, and two keto meals a day. Acidic like apple cider (also a product of fermentation). Works wonders for me. Most of my carbs from beer. Have maintained my new body for a year now. Beer is home brewed, bottled or kegged, no plastic. Mega swill beer, Budmilloors, is the problem. That is designed to be pounded all day. Not taste, no hops, all sorts of additives, no satisfaction.
