You could paint the toilet roll before you cut it into strips. The cut ends would be covered with the glue and glitter. Love your ideas. Thank you!

Hi! Awesome DYIs, I just started making these to decorate the office. Just one thing I needed to add, if anybody else is trying to make the tree out of the magazine.. a couple of tips to save you some time. Use thin paper magazines/catalogues, whatever it is you are using. Seriously consider her advice on the number of pages, otherwise it will come out uneven. Last, but not least- remove the harder covers. It may not seem like such a huge difference, but in the end it will, trust me, the weight of the paper makes a different angle when bended. Awesome video, thank you for the inspiration!

Tracey Ifversen I save all of my TP and paper towel rolls (mostly for gardening) but also for occasions such as this 😊 I also use them as quick-to-compost, plantable seed starter cups. Equally space 4 half-inch cuts on one end of the roll creating tabs then fold them into each other (like how you close a cardboard box) then fill with soil and 2 seeds... keep moist until sprouts appear then plant the whole thing. The roots never get injured and the roll breaks down quickly adding to the soil quality. 💜

We used to use Reader's Digest for Christmas trees. Lol Lots of pages. Toilet paper and paper towel tubes were always fun to make into decorations!

I've made a Christmas tree out of the wrapping paper card boards and .. some of that fake wreath tree, put the card board rolls in a tree or triangle and wrapped around the wreath I took apart... And some Xmas bulbs and garland..and battery led lights.. and it came together beautifully... It was last minute cause me and my four kids were supposed to go home for Christmas but got a snow storm... So I had to improvise for my babies... Turned out in the end .. 😁
