The worst thing I’ve experienced about the drivers in my area are people who merge or swap lanes without a turn signal, especially when there’s only a cars length of space between the person in front and me. It annoys me but I always remind myself it’s better to let it go and give them some space to avoid accidents.

That is true. Especially if there turning and a pedestrian wants to cross. If the turn signal ain't on and the section doesn't necessarily indicate it a turn section. Well it can lead to undesirable outcomes for both pedestrian and driver.

I don't know if there is also this problem in other countries, but in Italy, on twisty roads, there are people who drive very slow on bends and then step on the gas on straight lines. It's annoying because it makes overtakes more dangerous. Also people who keep the lights off in the rain: even though the lights here must be kept on at all times, even on sunny days, there are still idiots that during thunderstorms keep the lights off.

That last comment you made is soooo true! My mother bought a 2023 Toyota 4Runner and wanted to put offroading shit like a winch on it, not realizing that the suspension needs to be changed because of how heavy it is, that she'd have to buy a new bumper to carry it, and how useless a winch would be. The only time she went offroading was when she took her Rav4 onto the beach years ago. The mentality of these SUV owners is ridiculous

One of the worst non-car people behavior: you signal in order to pass a stopped car/hazard on the road, they see it and they signal while behind you then try to pass you aggressively instead of just following behind as they were already doing. Sometimes it's cheaper to use ride sharing or public transportation than your own car in California. With apartment parking, you can have one car and still not be guaranteed a spot at night. Leaving your car on red (like half the neighbors) is a 60 dollar fine, finding parking after work and going to the grocery store? Uber there and back is 30...

I agree with most points. Regarding SUVs though, in my honest opinion these things are just big and ugly with barely any benefit. And somehow so many people in the world are so insecure about themselves that they bought one too. They're not even meant to go "off-road". Only as "off-road" as a dusty farm road but that's about it. They're a joke of a vehicle, especially with the American wobble suspension.

The snow thing for southerners is because most people dont have snow tires when we only get snow a few days every year if that. and we don't salt the roads so things can get super slick real quickly so yeah it really is like an apocalypse for us. the rain thing i would argue same thing that most are driving with summer tires vs all season. though regardless of tires, i thought it was common practice to drive 10-15 under limit when raining, especially fresh rain, just to be safe.
