I love sharing these drills with swimmers. Don't let the title of the video throw you off. Most swimmers can at least attempt these drills and even if they're difficult, at the very least they're tons of fun!

You had me at 00:02 because fist drill & tennis 🎾 don’t get enough love or attention. All of this is SOOO important: sometimes you need to go slower to find your faster.

I’ll be doing the underwater freestyle as soon as I’m next in the pool. That looks like a workout and a half! Brilliant as ever Fares.

For the underwater freestyle how do we stay underneath so long without breathing (as we do every 3-4 strokes swimming on the surface)? All the drills are sooo exciting to learn. Makes me want to jump in now and try them!

Try to stay underwater for as long as possible before you need to breathe! Good luck with the drills - have fun!

A couple of drills I havent done before, thanks. Like you say, drills put the fun back into swimming when endless lengths starts getting dull.

Hello, (just wondering, nicer answer needed) May I ask what does"@"exactly mean? Does it combine with both swimming and rest time or swimming only? Thank you

Great question! The interval (after the @) is equal to swim time + rest time. For example if you have a set 4 x 50s Freestyle @ 1:30. If you swim the first 50 freestyle in 1:00, then you have :30 seconds rest before pushing off for the second repetition of the set. Really enjoying some of these drills. I've been teaching 6 kick switch and many variations, but never without the pull. I really like it! Also the underwater freestyle is a new one for me. Thanks so much for these videos!

@myswimpro i would like to know if you are an advanced swimmer how long it takes you to improve better or feel any difference while applying these drills?

You should feel immediately more connected in the water after the drill. If you're not feeling (at least different) then you need to do slow down the drill progression and do more repetitions with more focus. EX 8 x 50s vs 8 x 25s. Then when you swim after the drill you'll feel more engagement.

hi could you make a lesson about straight arm freestyle for sprinter, how to avoid shoulder injuries? should i keep the arm straight also in the pull phase?
