Sirsockbuddy Yes she uses whole cans but sometimes calls for spices or other ingredients that I don’t use such as dried herbs or spices such as cumin or ginger or even basic salt 🧂 that some people like me can’t use because of high blood pressure but I try to adapt by using other things like garlic or Italian seasoning

My mom's favorite fish, other than cod or tilapia, is tuna. I tolerated it as a kid, but as an adult, if I can sub out tuna and put salmon in a casserole, I will. I much prefer salmon's flavor and texture. I once tried mackerel, but unfortunately, it's too much like tuna for my liking. 😅

Great ideas, loved everyone! I use Campbell's Healthy Request cream soups in casseroles instead of the original and a lower sodium ham off the bone from the deli(use in my scalloped potatoes and ham). I love looking for low or no sodium options(wish there was more out there truly). Reducing where ever we can(as my Mom did, basically a no salt/low salt household), it worked, 62 yrs old no high blood pressure!

Absolutely! In any of my recipes you can lower the sodium by doing just that, Carolyn. And you can also substitute salt for Mrs. dash or other types of seasonings that are lower sodium. Thank you so much for your tip and have a great week🙌🏼

One of my favorite easy "dump and go" casserole dishes is a Mexican casserole I make by layering the bottom of a baking dish with cooked rice, then I put a layer of refried beans on top of that. Then a layer of taco-seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken. Then I top the meat with black beans seasoned with a little Adobo seasoning. Then crushed up tortilla chips. Then rice. Pop it into the oven for about 25-30 minutes. Serve it with sour cream and salsa!

how cute, your little one wants to help, that's good, really nurture that curiosity and before you know it you can turn meal prep over to your sous chef. My Mom taught us how to cook, she had to, she was a working single mom, by age 6 I could put a chicken in the oven, boil potatoes and crack open a can of Green Giant Green Beans. We Love cookin'

Yum. These all look so good. And they all look easy. I love casseroles. My husband doesn’t really. But if he wants to eat he will learn to like casseroles. My mom used to make them a lot.
