I bought the grizzly, worth a little extra in my humble opinion due to the fact you do not have to " lock" the cutter head. So far no complaints about its operation.

Dogg man, how do you do it? You're the best but...Burt, Burt, Burt...c'mon man. BTW, you're killing us using that baltic birch for an example of how the bit works. Burt could only double his money if he folded it and put it back in his pocket. Yeah buddy, knew there would be a Woodpecker in there sooner of later. Hey, if you're squinting where did you put those bi-focals? Girth could be as important as length, that Festool (more push-ups) is pretty wide also. The extension bends up to the right when inserted into the driver, we've noticed. Thumbs up, brother.
@FlynndoggWoodwork4 сағат бұрын
Haha! I'm with you Meat! Effing Burt! Oh trust me that birch wasn't from russia.... it was straight up home depot birch. I should try that folding money trick. Probablem with burt is most of his money is solid metal, so doesn't bend very well. Glad you were able to get some reps in today!

I recently bought the Suizan flush cut saw that's the same size. All teeth are set in 1 direction towards the writing that also indicates soft and hardwood use. I had to trim against an already finished piece and no marks.

I would not recommend that saw as a flush cut saw. When I bought mine, I immediately noticed that the teeth are set outward, making it useless for a smooth flush cut. I flattened both sides on my belt sander and now it works okay, but I don't trust it for fine pieces.

How accurate can you make the template? It has to be very good to use multiple dog fixtures. It didn't look like the holes were perfectly clean (bit wasn't kept absolutely vertical). The Shaper wouldn't be bad, given that the shaper has "helix mode". You don't even have to move it (except to the next hole). I just used mine, with the Shaper Workstation, to drill some precision holes in a 1/4" aluminum plate. Drilling a billion holes isn't fun no matter how you do it.
@FlynndoggWoodworkКүн бұрын
Totally agree. For me (right now) I'm primarily using these holes for hold down clamps. I didn't really go for complete accuracy. The holes work great for those hold down clamps. If I was doing this for accuracy I would have used the shaper for all the holes. The jig was mainly used to make sure that the holes were evenly spaced between the workbench that I used. Great observations and great points! Thanks for watching kwilliams!
@kwilliams223917 сағат бұрын
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I bought the Woodpeckers router jig when it was a "One Time Tool". That must have been 7-10 years ago. I've never used it. It's deep on my round-tuit list. The bench I was going to add holes to, is too thick to use clamps, so I'm not sure of the utility of the holes.

I cannot agree with your opinion on the Dewalt thicknesser that you rated as number one! I bought mine with a rebuilt motor, which did not last l9ng at all. I got the motor replaced & it blew up agai n. After the last rebuild, it did not last long again blowing up. I am strongly considering not getting it rebuilt again. For context, I use it in a hobby shed, mostly planing pine pallet timber which I first check with a metal detector to ensure there are no nails in the timber. I have to severely doubt your claim that it would be good in a professional workshop, being used to plane hardwood!

I have a newer craftsman radial arm saw. I just don’t use it much because I have a miter saw. I used to build car audio systems so the radial was used a lot more. The space it takes up and the height isn’t adjustable on the base making it sit alone requiring a table of its own. It’s just not convenient for work flow. My wood shop is a small 10x12 shed.
@FlynndoggWoodwork3 күн бұрын
That's good to know wiredperformance. That is one of my biggest concerns, is if I would actually use it since i have the MFT. Especially since it sounds like it takes up so much space. Thanks so much for sharing and have a great week!
