Hi Tamara, drinking water throughout the day with lemon or other citrus fruits in it will cause erosion of your teeth. Better to drink just the water. If you like to add a flavour like lemon, drink one glass of it, within 10 minutes and rinse your mouth with water afterwards to neutralize.

This video and your recommendations are so good! I lost 30lbs (about 13.5 kg) and I've managed to maintain it. Everyone asks me what did I do, and it's all the stuff you mentioned. It's all stuff everyone knows, but no one wants to do. I workout 6 days per week, because I love my workouts. I eat less than my maintenance. I drink a gallon (3.7 liters) of water per day, and I walk my dog a lot throughout the day. For people who may ask: I live in California. It was 96°F (35°C) yesterday, and because I workout and I walk my dog outside 3-4 times per day, I NEED the water. Because of this I also need some salt to absorb the water. The one thing I would add that you didn't mention is go slow. Learn new habits. Because the faster the weight comes off the faster the regain. Slow and steady. Learn how to maintain your weight loss through the process. Edit: grammar and units

Love these tips, I am a strong believer its about overall lifestyle: Eating healthy food mostly, sleeping enough hours for the body and mind to recover and working out regularly. I lost 15 pounds by simply watching what I eat, intermittent fasting and working out six days out of 7 since my professional work during the quarantine requires too many hours siting in front of the computer meeting with staffs and clients.
@Nubianette4 жыл бұрын
I started intermittent fasting in November to boost my immunity to help with regular winter colds. When I realized how dangerous this virus could be. Especially for my racial group, and I was overweight. I got scared, and went full “clean keto”! So, I’ve lost almost 30 pounds (yes, I’m American 😉) since the middle of February. I get to eat most of the foods I love. I’ve chosen to eliminate all grains. Proteins with as much salad, and other low glycemic veg as I want. If you eliminate grains, you don’t have to count calories. I liked what you said about switching up how and what you eat. Only one tip for you. Chocolate without the sugar is an antioxidant, and it’s good for you. You can melt baking chocolate with coconut butter and another butter like almond butter, cinnamon, vanilla, and a bit of an alternative sugar. It’s a healthy, nourishing treat. 👍🏾

I just have to say thank you for introducing me to IF. I’m on 6:18 and 8:16, already lost 6kg since the beginning of the quarantine which is amazing when you’re fighting hypothyroidism and Hashimoto with terribly slow metabolism. 💖
@dianasultanova32794 жыл бұрын
Hi! Can I ask how do you schedule it? I mean for example 5 days a week 8:16, then one day no fasting and the next day 6:18? Or is it different/individual?

Great video Tamara! Just a few things for people to understand their bodies more. You don't actually "lose" fat cells when you lose weight but they will decrease in size, so when you gain weight you will not deposit fat on your certain areas (this is actually cancer behaviour) but more your existing fat cells will increase in size. When a fat cell reaches its maximum capacity in fat storage it will proliferate, but generally, for most people, when you gain weight you don't actually increase the number of adipocytes. Second is the importance of drinking all of your water throughout the entire day. Don't give yourself water intoxication by trying to drink the "recommended" amount of water, every organism is different. See how much of water your kidneys can process each hour and drink as much each hour. And third is the thing I see a lot of people struggle is intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting doesn't actually cause weight loss at all. Calorie deficit causes weight loss instead. Intermittent fasting is popular because it enables people to control their calorie intake, but if you eat 2-3 large meals in your 6 or 8 hour eating period you will no longer be in deficit and won't lose any weight.

The second tip is what changed my life for the better. I simply started buying healthy and in time I stopped craving unhealthy food and even sweets even though I used to have the biggest sweet tooth. It's all about the habits.
@LittleMissSomeone4 жыл бұрын
I am using this time to truly change my habits into healthy ones. I have made positive changes- started running, eating pretty much an 90% healthy and 10% indulgent diet. when the quarantine started here in the UK i was thinking that it would be great to lose 5kg as a side benefit to a healthier way of living, and have so far lost 2.5kg. I am basing my calorie intake on how much exercise i'm doing and on my metabolic rate and all these things together really work! Yes it's a slower weight loss, but I am focused on being healthy- losing weight is a welcome 'side effect' and I am seeing this as a marathon, not a sprint ;) Thank you for your tips, Tamara!

Re. Drinking more water- at my previous job, I had a lot of Chinese coworkers, & they are all big believers in drinking warm/hot water. Apparently it assimilates into our body, more easily. So I drink hot water w/ lemon, all day long (after my AM coffee). At first it seemed strange, but now I crave it.

Tamara there is no way that your BMR is 600 calories per day. A healthy inactive woman needs a minimum of 1200 calories a day to run all her organs and transport blood/oxygen through out the body. If you are super active of have alot of muscle on your body its probably in the range of 1400-1800 calories. It's not a great idea to give a number like that because so many women will immediately start starving themselves. Anything under 1200 calories a day is hypo-caloric and should only be used intermittently such as on a day where a person is fasting.
@TamaraKalinic4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary-Ann its not! Mine is cca 1400, I was giving it as an example for calculation. Also 500 isnt the amount of calories i spend in a day. Just thought to make it easy for an example, I explained it below but I guess many people didnt read, so you are totally right to ask❤️

How do you walk 10k in heels? That's what I've been wondering since you first mentioned it haha For me it's the same, my walking was reduced (I still go to the park) and I used to climb the stairs in my office so that was reduced as well. But on the other hand I found that my strength has increased since I started doing more at-home exercise.

Agree so much-that the body is wise to what we are up to. “Oh. I get it. You do this workout 3 times a week. I’m used it, that’s cool. But I’m not gonna respond anymore” 😃 A change up-surprising muscles, surprising your digestion with foods or timing (through I don’t intermittent fasting myself),,,keeping things fresh and challenging is what keeps the body awake and adjusting. 👍
