Not only do you seem pretty good, I enjoy your attitude. There is a very real mind-body connection in martial arts. I think that shows in your training.

Paul, many thanks for another one of your excellent and informative videos. Paul, I really enjoy practicing Kali and how you are able to logically integrate the didactical teachings of Kali as you parallel those teachings with the clinical aspect thru " Drills / Hand to Hand Combat / Weapons Training " in a real time scenario of workouts that you instill in me. Paul, please keep them coming along.

Just started retraining with Kali. I train with a buddy of mine and we realized after watching your videos we were twirling the sticks all wrong. We were using an open handed twirl and using your method I can tell the difference in control and power. Just ordered a set of the burned rattan sticks and man they shipped fast cannot wait to get them and start practicing more.

Nice Steve! Keep in touch with your training progress! Let me know how those sticks hold up! :)

Good morning from the uk, great video, serves as a reminder for me. I usually pick things up quite well but these reverse things or the upward strikes always throw me off so I don't spend much time on them,..but it looks good bro and I wanna do that too lol cheers, 😊

=Did you know= that sinawali is a kapampangan(one of the ethnic tribe in the philippines) word for "weaved" the word can also mean (depends on use) sinasali is also the kapampangan name for their escrima technique which specialize in dualwielding shortswords.

Hey man, I just noticed your vids and I think they make great drills. Just a quick correction, I believe that the first 2 drills aren't sinawali but they're called redonda/ridonda. Thanks.

Ervin Punzalan redonda x is also sinawali, it’s called doble sinawali or double sinawali.

My teacher (who is a GM in it) tells me it is a warm up drill/exercise, not a combat one.
@pobrengmoturista6 жыл бұрын
Ian Sinclair it’s not just a drill, it’s also a combat strikes, specially redonda x. It incorporates blocking and striking techniques.
@iansinclair62566 жыл бұрын
That's strange because the GM i train under says other wise. I figured if a guy that spent so many years training under GM's in the Philippines and became one in a couple systems of escrima would know what he was talking about. Maybe i just miss understood? I am still a beginner, so who knows hay. Just repeating what i was told.

Thank you for the tutorials! I asked a prior questioning realizing, albeit late, that you answered it in THIS vid tutorial. I do not have fancy metal sticks but one handcrafted from white oak and another in spruce, the latter is common in my area. SUBSCRIBED! I hope to follow along without breaking anything (including myself) in the process.
